Miami Can Shred Contracts And Get To Almost $90m In Cap Space In 2019

If this years a wash, why cut everyone? Just let them play out their contracts and keep drafting well. Why have 35million in dead cap and still have to fill up half the roster? See what Flores can do with what we've had and go from their.

Because dead cap is already paid out . . . .why pay salary to somebody who has no future on the team instead of giving those reps to some younger potential at a cheap salary price.

And even still, if cut them now you don’t have to deal with any dead money after 2019. If u let a guy on a two or three year deal play this year, you are paying his 2019 salary and still will accrue dead cap for the rest of his deal.

Those are the highest contract FA's in 2020, equalling out to roughly 42.6 Million dollars coming off the books next year and we can still field at team without throwing picks to the wolves. That't not even including Tannehill, who is the only one I would cut and take a dead cap hit on. Also don't think we'll pick up the Parker option so that 2.7 mil doesnt count.

We still need a 53 man roster, it's a long year, and you can't just expect our whole draft class of 2019, along with a boat load of UDFA's, to immediately start and play 16 games. That's asking so much, and you need to have vets that mentor them, and limit injury risk from playing high minutes while trying to adjust to a bigger/faster/stronger league.

Both Drake and X are FA's in 2020, and ideally you want to re-up on Tunsil as well, so if they produce well this next year looks like there's 40 million to work with.

No way I'm cutting Jones. He's still a great player and I expect him to improve next year once Burke is gone. Him and Fitz on the back end is a legit safety duo. I'm also keeping Kiko. He's a good player with a knack for big plays, even though he makes head scratching decisions sometimes. Akeem Spence is staying too, and possibly Sitton if you think he can stay healthy.

That said, cut the rest, and add James onto the list. He's not worth the money it's going to take to lock him up long term.

Also, what the hell do we have to do to get rid of TJ McDonald? He doesn't have a future here.
The good is outweighed by the bad. We can do better at LB.
