You just know NO is going to run right at Miami. Given what's happened the last few weeks, they're gonna get a heavy dose of Smith and Stecker. NO can run the ball, Miami can't tackle.

I think it's BS to blame our poor run defense on injuries. Everyone has injuries, Pittsburg, Indy etc. Tackling is an attitude. We are long in the tooth on that defensive line, and once a runner breaks the LOS, he's looking at the likes of Madison to make a tackle? Get real. Safeties are usually the tacklers in the backfield and they are either injured, or inexperienced.

This game could be a NO blowout if the Saints come out pissed for getting ripped off last week against the Rams. They played tough and physical and played the whole game that way.

Don't be decieved by their run defense against the RAMS...Miami does not have that kind of offense where it spreads the defense creating lanes for the running game, and has no weapons on the outside that draws dbl coverage.

NO will stack the LOS, and make Ferrotte beat them.

NO 27 Miami 17

Sounds like your a Saints fan... And an optimistic one at that!! :goof:

Miami will have success in this game. Expect the blitz packages from our defense to be all day and from every position... Steckar and Smith are desceht but neither is Priest Holmes or Larry Johnson.

The offense gets things a little more consistent this week and adds the run on more carries. Gus won't need to beat them.

I think the defense loses a LOT with Seau out. And not just physical characteristics, but intangibles as well.

He has hardly played this season... He's still on the sideline barking at the young guys though I'm sure.

Phinfreak has 15 posts and I think every one of them has been extremely negative. I hope when the dolphins win this week he comes back and admits he was overreacting.

Reggie Howard in particular has been horrible at tackling. We are undersized on the d-line which doesn't help when stopping the run, in particular Vonnie Holliday and Jeff Zgonina are both undersized for DTs and Holliday should be a DE instead of a DT. Also JT is undersized but effective as we all know. Part of the problem is bad tackling and the other part is that opposing lines can man handle our d-line because of it's size. Next year that problem should be fixed by starting Kevin Vickerson and Manuel Wright/Jeff Zgonina at DT with Holliday switching to back-up DE in my opinion.

What I would do right now is switch Carter to DT and Holliday to DE there by adding a bigger body to the inside and with Traylor and Carter starting at DT, the middle will be heavier

Yea, Im Pretty Sure He's Like The Rest That Post Negative Threads Then Comes Back Kissing @$$.

Dude your a tool "we cant stop the run"......wtf how many hundred yd rushers had we given up this yr ..i think 1 bc jt couldnt tackle...so yes we can stop the run ...look into what your saying before acting like you know everything ok....and our D is still top ten ranked buddy

We can't stop anything on the first drive of the game. I hope we win the toss this week. That way, if we score, the game will at least be tied after we get it shoved down our throat for an opening drive TD.

I think the D has seriously lost some fire and emotion that is played with in our only wins this year. I don't know what it is, but they need to find their hearts.

We CAN stop the run. I don't think that there's any question about that. Even with the missed tackles, we've done a very good job versus the run (the obvious exception being the two runs in the Tampa game).

Plus, isn't Stecker hurt?

Smith is not that good....don't know much about Stecker. Why would they run when we have no DB's and Brooks has a cannon.

Prediction: Fins feed Ronnie and discover McMicheal again, AB throws 2TD's (and 2 picks)...Fins win a nail biter against another bad team....

Fins 23 Saints17.................Wooooooooooooooooohoooo 3-4!!

Hey Einsteins...

KC thrashed us for 180 yards rushing....you do the research homer. Both runners had approx 90 yds.

I am a fan, but not deaf, dumb and blind like some of other posts.

Facts are ...

Look at Miami's run defense ranking. Look at the fact that they have allowed almost 200 yards rushing in the most recent (read here most accurate indicator of trend) games.

Look at who are the leading tacklers, LB and Db's. Not a good indicator of stuffing the run.

Look at 3rd down conversion by opponents...real problem area for dolphs...why? Let me edumacate you...

Because we lose on 1st downs...which are 70% runs...yielding over 4yd/rush.

So tell me Einstein...how is it we are STOPPING the run again?
