Miami Dolphin Free Agents

A fair number of these guys did a solid job for us this year. Borum, in particular, was widely laughed at and insulted by the bros here. ...and yet, he did a credible job. Nothing flashy, just solid just-a-guy work for us.

C'mon, you remember the squealing and gnashing of teeth when he was signed. "The worst ever', they cried. "he's gonna get someone killed," they squealed... and yet, I suppose the same bros will cry and squeal when we sign guys like that this year.

Myself... I'd rather sign 5 of these guys for the 1-2m each that they tend to get rather than one 10m/year Free Agent. I've always figured that taking more shots is better than signing one expensive guy. Hell... look what happens to a team when their big FA signing gets injured. We got a Hell of a lot more play out of Borum, Waller, Douglas, and Dulcich than Carolina got out of Robert Hunt this year. Jonnu was a bust for Pittsburgh this year. Don't even get me started on the Christian Wilkins mess.

I LIKE reclamation projects and signing third tier FAs late in the FA period. If even half of them give you anything, you win. The REAL mess is signing the expensive FAs...
I doubt anyone here questioned the Borom signing more than I did. Maybe @GRYPHONK did as much. I have gladly admitted being wrong several times. They had a specific plan for Borom, being Ajax's dedicated understudy, and it turns out it was a sound one. This is why I advocate retaining Butch Barry and trying to re-sign Borom. He was a good soldier and very reliable.

Butch Barry is a good coach...I agree we should keep him.

Hill, strange, kohou, Douglas only 4 I’d consider. None are gonna break the bank all should be short term deals. Hill and kohou only 2 to consider 3 year deals with. Probably just kohou.

Oh.. you weren't the worst...

Heh!

Your kvetching is usually logic based.

Hard to say what Douglas will command. He had a good year, but he's at the age where drop off is imminent.

Wait a second, Zach Wilson is a free agent, but counts towards our cap tp the tune of 3.8 million

You know.... It's funny this season, in a humbling way. The previous 3 seasons or so, I was spot on and 100% correct on my O line assessment. I was even almost exact on how and when injuries would happen and when and what game the O line would go to sh$#. I may have been dead wrong with an individual player (Zabel/ Brewer) but the overall evaluation of the line and what was needed or not needed I was correct on.

This season? My god, I couldn't have been any more wrong lol. For the first season in a long time GRYPHONK had no clue about how good or bad this line would be. Jonah I thought was a FANRASTIC pick. Wellllllll.....

I still think they should focus on a top tier linemen in the draft if Mauigoa or Fano fall (not likely). However, it's clear the Line is not as bad off as I made it out this season. But that's a good thing. This is when I am happy to be wrong. Brewer and Paul are good building blocks and we shall see how it goes

This is gonna look like a different team with all those free agents….
I’d like them try to keep
Rasul Douglas and kader kohou at cb
Greg dulcich at te

I have a feeling there will be lots of udfa and older vets who end up getting signed after the draft

I got reemed by quite a few posters when I wanted to give Borom a chance. I agree he played better than he did in Chicago. Resigning him as our swing tackle is a good idea,IMO.

I expect more players on the roster in '26 that were here in '25 than some expect.

I'd have a talk with a few of the OL, Jones, Dulcich, Patterson, & Douglas but the 1 I'd really like to keep is Gay. He looked great in minimal action and if not for Dodson calling the D (I assume ...), would've got way more playing time. He's a cheap keeper.

I could be talked into Jacob Rodrigez with one of the 3rds depending on what happens.
