Does anyone remember the season when the NFL players went on strike and scabs were brought in to continue the season?

I was watching one of those NFL Films presents features on TV and it came up. Out of curiousity, who were some of the Miami scabs and did any of them continue to have a career in the NFL afterwards?

Does anybody have the starting lineup of that squad?

I made a terrible mistake during that thing. I could punt and kick off good enough to get dressed out for a tryout. I'm not all that but neither were they, all I'm saying is I had an opportunity to maybe dress out ONE time for the Miami Dolphins and I didn't try. I lived in Brooksville and was freshly married...and...and....

Don't you young guys miss your chance if they ever go to strike.

Amazing what looking information up on the internet can do for you.

I remember Kyle (?) Mackie, the QB on the scab team. He basically WAS the offense. Had a lot of heart.

I'm pretty sure that is how Mark Royals, our ex-punter got into the league. He was a punter who came around during the lockout.

ahh yes that was the 1987 season

Question:

Didn't that game that Marino missed due to the Scabs cost him the longest streak ever by a QB? I think Favre would have beat it by now anyways, but I thought he would have been the longest prior to Favre.

You are exactly right my friend. I used to sing that song up in Green Bay when I lived there. The Packer fans couldnt process the information I was giving them, especially after Madden said that Favre was the greatest QB ever to have played with a linebacker mentality for the 3784th time.

I think the only Dolphins "scab" player to play for the Dolphins after the strike ended was DB Lilfort Hobley.
