We know what the Bills did to the Dolphins last season.
(Quickie lesson in recall: Teams played twice, Bills won both despite starting a third-string QB who is not even in the NFL right now because their defense, particularly their defensive front, dominated the Dolphins offensive line.)

Well, that memory I suppose is the basis of a theory that is circulating the Dolphins locker room that is coming from coaches: The Bill have the best defensive front seven the Dolphins will see this year.
“We just game-planned him a little bit today," right tackle Ja'Wuan James was saying. "They were saying this is probably going to be the best line we are going to face all year, so we just have to prepare, prepare like we just did for (the Patriots) game and help the team

So if we take care of business against them, you could say this OL is legitimately good. no?

Big measuring stick for sure on road against that front. Let's see what the change in OC along with the line changes can produce.

Brady crumbled with 4 sacks. I'd be interested if there's ever been any QB who's ever been sacked 7 times and won the game (whether or not he had to leave it due to injury).

It's an early measuring stick. The O-line will get better the more they play together plus the return of Pouncey should help as well (although I still have issues with the head bobbing before the snap). I think this line is already better than last years but how good...not sure yet. Buffalo had 57 sacks last year which was 2nd in the league...9 of those were against us...but they also came with constant pressure and a lot of QB hits. Patriots had 48 sacks last year with 10 coming against us...I think we skewed their numbers a bit...38 sacks against 14 other teams is less than 3 sacks a game. Buffalo's pass rush is legit.

I don't know about all of that. But, I do know this is yet another good barometer for this offense particularly the offensive line.

Extremely, interesting game.

The good news is that our O-Line has been baptized by fire all summer long by our D line, which isn't too shabby themselves. They intentionally made it hard for them to get them spun up quickly...hopefully that pays off Sunday!

I was just rewatching the Pats game and all I can say is that they (OL) collectively were either moving their guys or standing them up. It was like a symphony and the RB's were reading the blocks and running to daylight.

Now I do see this Bills D as a much stouter line because Jones and Ninkovich are smaller types. Their DT's are head and shoulders better than Pats. Wilfork is still good but he ussually is good for only half a game if you run on them.

Mario is more prototypical DE in a 4-3. Bills fans are saying the same thing for our rookie RT if you consider Wake vs. Henderson.

I would definitely have Sims over the right side most of the afternoon to help James. Its a no brainer to me. Albert will handle Hughes.

I would say yes.

The Bills are really good, and will get some plays, but if your OL without your Center limits those plays (sacks) and gets decent numbers on the ground you can say legitimately you have a good line growning in MIA.

I would not use NE as a measuring stick they are really not good in the front 7 and for some reason BB used a bunch of 4-3 people and tried to show a 3-4 against you guys. But like the Media Says he is a Genius and will never catch flack for something like that though he should.

It really is, because the front seven is really good, and the secondary is very opportunistic, so mistake against this team will hurt. Tannehill can't be off even a little bit, and no balls can afford to hit the ground for the Dolphins (Whether it be incompletes or INTs). Getting over 20 points on this team will not be as easy.

There was a reason why when we looked at this schedule, the 1st few games were very concerning. Let us hope the coaches come up with a great plan, and the players work extremely hard in practice and in the game to execute to perfection.

You could definitely say that.

However, all is not quite lost if they give us some problems ... even after last week's domination of NE - Buffalo's DL is better, and we're still meshing up front.

Now, OTOH, should it look like last year ... I'm going to be worried.

Oh, I most certainly would use it as ONE measuring stick. Lets not get carried away with one game now. BB always makes a comeback.

Their defense is Hybrid by design. Which is why they let alot of LB's go. Jones and Ninkovich covert to OLB in a 3-4, a 2-5, or whatever concoction Bill throws at teams.

But it always comes back to fundamentals in a game in the trenches. If you can run the ball, it doesnt matter what your scheme is. Your D will eventually collapse. Knowshon Moreno is the collapser.

It's definitely one of the better d lines we will face. We need knowshon to set the tone early. If the o line handles buffalo defensive front then I think we can say these guys might just be for real. They completely dominated the trenches vs he pats but this is a true test.
