DAVIE —
If Isaiah Ford wasn’t here, as a breakout performer early in Miami Dolphins training camp, we could blame former Duke basketball player Grayson Allen. Come again?
Well, as Ford explains it, he and Allen were close friends, growing up in Jacksonville. And Ford was a really good basketball player, too.
“It was my love,” Ford said Monday, after yet another practice in which he made yet another splendid diving catch.

If he doesn't make our team some team will come in and grad him he'll never make it to the practice team.

I guess we can put him in the training camp ring of honor with former players like Edmond Gates, Matt Hazel, Sean Smith, AJ Francis, Jonas Gray, Jeff Fuller, and Zach Vigil.

I totally understand and agree with that sentiment but I think Ford is/will be a little different. He was turning heads last year before he got hurt. We haven’t seen what he can do in the NFL, but based on his college film and what he’s done in camp he’s probably the player I’m most excited for depth wise as we get closer to the season.

You couldn't ask for more potential from a 7th round pick than Ford has. Every team needs 2-3 guys to come out of nowhere with little investment and turn into a contributor.

With all these WR's maybe we can include one in a package to Oakland for....

time will tell what he can do but whatever is, he has to do it out on the field and TC doesn't count.

Ford has been turning heads but with a red jersey on. He is kind of slim so I'm a bit concerned about his durability.

His 40 time (4.6) dropped him in the draft. However, he apparently has great leaping ability and is smooth running routes. That overshadows his lack of straight line speed and is more important in the NFL.
You can’t deny his production at VT.

Anyone know offhand, were injuries an issue at VT?

I went back and looked, only thing I could find is when he got injured last year. If he got hurt before, I don't think it was serious enough to warrant a mention.

Should have been a 2-3 rounder. Still no idea how he landed in the 7th.

Most mocks I've re-looked at from that draft really did have him in the 3rd round range....Not sure how he got to the 7th, definitely hope he makes the team you could do a lot worse for a 5th/6th receiver....

Our WR depth overall is quite good, probably the deepest position on the team
