Dolphins Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey wouldn’t give a timetable for his return, but was wearing a broad smile and said “I feel good” Monday night during an appearance at a community event sponsored by the Jason Taylor Foundation.

Pouncey has been out since suffering a hip injury in the second preseason game, against Dallas, and did not practice Monday.
“I can’t answer that question,” Pouncey told The Post when asked when he might be back. “I’ll tell you I feel good. We have a plan in place. It’s ultimately up to Coach Gase when I’ll be playing.”
Pouncey has missed eight games over the past three seasons while dealing with various injuries and surgeries but said he’s staying optimistic despite the latest setback.
“It hasn’t really been frustrating,” he said. “I’ve had injuries before and I know how to deal with them, so it’s fine.”
Assuming Pouncey cannot play in Sunday’s opener at Seattle, the position would fall to Anthony Steen, who would be making his first NFL start in the league’s noisiest stadium.
“He’s a good football player,” Pouncey said. “We’re going to be cheering him on. If he’s in there playing, he’s going to do good.”

Getting paid millions to peddle a bike must make him feel like a champ. This guy is overrated.

Yeah not a huge fan of Pouncey anymore. Guy has been the anchor of a horrible offensive for a long time. Im not gonna say he sucks but he is paid like one of the best centers in the league. On top of that he misses a ton of games. Bout time to move on from him

I know he's rated highly because of his athleticism but man, has he ever led a good offensive line? He's the one constant in a constantly underperforming o-line.

In the first preseason game Steen played, week 3, the guards suddenly looked better. The line as a whole looked better than it has in years. That's due to a competent C making the right line calls. Steen for President!

We're really witnessing history with Pouncey. He is the most overrated player in our team's history. Glad he's feeling good as he goes to cash those ludicrous checks. Hope Steen takes his job permanently.

Pouncey consistently grades as one of the best in the league at center and has one of the lowest sack percentages in the league...

It sucks that he is injured, but to assume that it is some choice of his is pretty ridicules. Hope he returns soon, because while Steen is a decent backup, he is eventually going to start to show those warts on his inability to recover, struggle to get to the second level and below average athleticism.
