I enjoy watching Baker out there on the field. He is fast, tough, strong and has a lot of energy. I think that he will continue to get better as he gets more experience.

The link below provides gifs that highlight some of his good and not so good plays vs Oakland.

Rookie weak side linebacker Jerome Baker earned more snaps Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders (46) than his previous 2 contests combined (45).

Pro Football Focus credited him with 9 tackles (0 missed tackles), 1 TFL, and gave up 6 of 7 coverage targets for 32 yards.

Once Fitzgerald becomes the fulltime FS the coverage clusterflocks will go away.

Hope we continue to draft underclassmen in the earlier rounds, always feel like they have more of a ceiling

Very interesting point. I agree with this theory. I wonder if there is data to support this?

As for Baker, I like him and more than I expected to. He's very active and obviously fast. Those two traits can make up for deficiencies.

Not going to happen. Miami's nickel lineup is too good right now with Minkah in the slot for them to make any changes like that.

I agree completely.

Many here want Fitz to be starting FS, and take TJ off the field in base. I think its better for the overall defense to have Minka free to move around as the situation dictates.

It certainly gives Burke a ton of flexibility.

Great breakdown. I'm thinking, at this point, Baker has the higher ceiling of the two OS linebackers. I think he needs to put on a little weight for strength, and durability concerns.

Looks good - much better than I thought - looked like a 2nd year player out there
For some reasons, I see Chase Allen on the field more often than Baker. But it's a good problem to have with these up and coming young LB's.
