Miami Dolphins have brought on Troy Aikman

Not sure about looking for a guy with a scouting background. The GM role is a multi faceted one. At a high level there's two key aspects. 1. Recruitment and 2. Contract management.

Recruitment then splits into several areas such as evaluation of college talent and drafting which is very different from acquiring veterans. The latter includes high value free agents, low to mid tier players and down to the practice squad. The throw in trades which cross over both areas.

Contract management focuses more on the existing squad and cap management. Keeping the right players ar the right price on the right contracts. Not only working your own numbers but managing expectations of players and their managers.

Roster building and maintenance goes well beyond scouting and you need a guy with a varied skillset. Of course you can hire people to the support staff to fill in the gaps.

This is funny. Bitching about things they were screaming/clamoring for all season and the last few years. Now, actual steps being taken to make changes, and the bitching continues.

It’s very easy to see that some brothers have never owned a company, or have experience in executive management.
wtf are you talking about

Pompous ass post

Tell you what word is your whole entity is a facade

The ends justify the means for me. If bringing in Aikman leads to hiring a GM that can make Miami contenders again, it was the right move. If not, it was the wrong one.

Not really complicated as far as I’m concerned.

If dolphins hirer the right gm and right coach. They will be right back in mix. Decisions makers are killing dolphins from getting to next level.

Of course. It’s the same story for every team in the history of the NFL. “Hire the right person, draft the right person, make the right coaching decisions.”

No ****. When it happens, it will have happened.

My post didn’t have anything to do with you, but if I struck a nerve, apologies. We both agree that Aikman can help. Your last sentence is incoherent, so I’ll assume you might have had a few. Cheers!

Well if not both get one right.

Don’t belittle people that’s who I stick up for

So my question, and reason for bumping this thread is this:

Does Aikman stay on for the HC search now that we have a GM?
