"A highly-respected talent evaluator, Dawson assists head coach Mike Munchak and the general manager with the team’s daily roster moves and all transactions via free agency and the annual NFL Draft. He also scouts all levels of professional football, including the NFL, CFL and Arena Football League. In addition to his various football operations responsibilities, he assists with contract negotiations. This past May, he participated in the NFL’s Career Development Symposium at the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia."

what's impressive is how several of our candidate invitee's have ties to Confidante Carl (Peterson)... he either drafted them, hired them, or prop'd them for a gig.. dang

Peterson has a lot of connections. At that level, the NFL is a pretty small community and you could arguably make connections to anyone. We could do a lot worse than Dawson IMO.

Keep the interviews coming. The more options you have, the better the outcome in my experience.

Thanks for posting. Was hoping we did an interview today. I like Dawson. He certainly seems like a good candidate. That makes 5 interviews now. Who's left? Gamble and Ross?

You could have had a Fisher/Dawson package a few years ago.

Thankfully that didn't happen. Pretty solid Titans drafts, found some solid playmakers. I like that they draft football players, even if a guy is a bit undersized or a marginal athlete. Guys like Klug and Casey. There are some damn good drafts in there.

I'd be happy with Dawson. I'd be happy with Licht, Gamble, Ross.

I mentioned in the other thread about him, I think he will start getting some buzz after the interview. He comes across like a guy who feels right at home in a boardroom and I think Ross will love that -- for better or for worse.

So you think you are further along with Philbin/Ireland than you would have been Fisher/Dawson? Crazy man talk.

For the record, I never thought Fisher was coming to Miami…but in large part because Ross was stubborn by insisting on keeping Ireland. Imagine if he loses his GM pick because the guy wants his own coach? So much for learning from history.

Titans have been horrible - they drafted Locker - enough said

Locker was playing extremely well this season before he got hurt. In fact, I'd go as far as to say the Titans would be playing in this game tonight if he had stayed healthy. Ryan Fitzpatrick killed their season. I was saying in the General NFL thread about Munchak, that Mike Munchak got flat out scapegoated in Tennessee. That team won 7 games with a terrible quarterback.

If anything, what I want to know is: How much was Lake Dawson responsible for the decision to let go of Matt Hasselbeck and sign Ryan Fitzpatrick? How much was Lake Dawson involved with the decision to extend Chris Johnson?

You don't know what happened with any decisions made while Bud Adams was still alive, because he meddled more than anyone not named Jerry "I am the GM" Jones.

No I don't think that. I felt we should have fired both of them and that Philbin is gonna need a lot of help from the new OC and GM for this team to be successful. I think bringing in a guy like Fisher would've led to a longer, mediocre tenure. If we had those 2 there's no guarantee we would've found our QB tho.

I agree with cleaning house, but 2010.

For Philbin supporters, they will always point out that the GM sucks, the QB sucks, the owner sucks, the OC sucks, the free agents suck, the cheerleaders suck, the beer guy sucks….never is Joe accountable.

Joe should be as accountable as anyone in the building. He was higher on the chopping block than Ireland for me, both deserved to be canned tho. We had enough talent in place. With a new OC in the fold I think some of Philbin's deficiencies can be masked, Sherman slaughtered this offense. It would also be nice if a GM like this comes in because it would hopefully lead to changing this blocking scheme. I feel like a guy who has a history of drafting linemen like Warmack who are more power guys would like to be looking at guys like they've drafted in the past.
