Mother****** this **** is on you and you alone. You want to start? Do better, period.

There's this from the article:

For the record, defensive coordinator Matt Burke recently said Phillips is doing fine.

Burke said Phillips has had only one poor practice.

They also want to get a good look at the rookies as well and to do so they need to get in with the starters for a proper assessment.

I think this is part of motivating him and to keep pushing him to be better throughout camp. He just needs to keep working hard.

I don't think it means anything at this point. Trying different combos out there. Week one will tell us the real scoop. He has the talent but he needs to put it together and make the plays out on the field

Ozzy rules!!

Something about this dude has always bothered me. You see interviews with him and he seems to not really give a ****. He has the potential to be a freak but it's not clicking. 2nd round pick going into year 3. Do or die.

Hopefully he steps up and goes all out every play he's on the field.

2nd rd pick Panthers DT Kawaan Short had a very similar track, even slower start actually, and he turned the corner in year 3 to become a very good DT in a one gap scheme like ours. DT's outside the 1st rd typically take this amount of time to develop.

You're a smart dude and I hope you're right but when you listen to him talk he sounds so lackadaisical. I really wanted Maxx Williams, Quinton Rollins or Clive Walford with that pick so I will always be biased against him.

I hear you though about this year. The light needs to come on soon and he should be an unquestionable impact player by years end.

I think Phillips is still the starter but the important thing is the snap amount.

I think that this is more about getting a good look at Godchaux and Taylor. It may also help to get Phillips hungry for playing time. This is all about creating competition.

I saw Kawaan Short play in both high school and several times in college. He was a workout warrior and was always looking to get better. Can the same be said about Phillips?

Coach has said they just want to see what some of the other DT's look like with the starters. People are reading more into things than they need to. It makes sense to me if you're going rotate your 3rd DT into games with the starters that you should have him get some first string reps too.
