FORT LAUDERDALE – Miami Dolphins great Bob Kuechenberg risks losing his South Florida home to foreclosure, according to court records. Kuechenberg, 66, the veteran of 14 seasons with Fins as offensive lineman, is being sued by Bank of New York in a Broward County court.
The bank claims “Kooch” stopped paying his $538,000-mortgage last year and now wants his house at 2519 SW 30th Terrace, in the Riverland Manors area of Fort Lauderdale.
Kuechenberg didn’t reply to a request for comment.
“I can’t comment because this is in litigation,” said Neale Poller, Kooch’s attorney.
Records show Kuechenberg, a six-time NFL Pro Bowl pick, bought the three-bedroom house in 2003 for $387,000.
He obtained the mortgage in 2007, records show, and was sued in 2009 by the same bank for non-payment. The suit, however, was settled and Kooch staved off foreclosure once.
The big guy has had a rough time of it since he retired one of the best offensive linemen in the game in 1984.
He has battled alcoholism, made bad business deals and has been divorced twice.

My favorite Kooch story is him running his mouth about the fins in their albeit underachieving season in 2006, but the week he did it JT killed the undefeated Bears practically by himself. Taylor showed why he was a an all time Dolphin great.

Koch needs to get his life in check.

He had a thriving art business back in the 1980's. I was working part time at a art dealership and he stopped in once.
Sorry about his financial difficulties. South Florida real estate is a bad investment.
He should cut and run and get settled somewhere that he can afford in retirement.
