On his second play during Saturday’s preseason game, Dolphins quarterback
Chad Henne stepped up to the line of scrimmage and saw a Tampa Bay Buccaneers
team prepared to defend the running play originally called in the huddle just a
few seconds before.

The Bucs’ defense had only one safety deep, called “post safety” coverage,
and Henne knew the offense would be better suited to exploit that part of the
field.

“So I audible to a post-safety [passing] play, right?” Henne explained
privately afterward. “Then, the defense audibled into two-deep [coverage]. So
now I’m back into the same situation. But you try to pick a play that can beat
any coverage.”

You might not understand exactly what Henne means by all of this, and that’s
OK. It isn’t what is important here.

I think he was saying that in actual game situations, they try to run plays that will result in positive yardage and moving the football towards the end zone in an attempt to score

Novel idea, eh.

I like that Henne is at least looking more the part so far and showing confidence this year.

it so simple

I seriously wonder what Henning had the QB's thought process like last season:

"Ok, the defense is prepared to defend the play we just called. Therefore, I'm going to kill to a play that not only this particular defense can defend, but any defense can. So it doesn't matter what defense they audible to!! Hahahahaha we win!"
