Again he was my #1, this is a huge hire. Now pray the pack lose this weekend and LaFleur becomes available.

It has to do with his contract expiring after next season and what they would be willing to pay him with a contract extension. Maybe he wants to keep his options open as well.

I take it back - i was upset at mcdaniels firing bc it really looked like Ross was being Ross and doing anything to get Harbaugh but this signing helps confirm Ross is listening to his football people first

This is awesome. I love this hire

From what extremely limited Ive heard, it's a matter of asking them to come prepared with a 3 year plan and prepare to defend your philosophy, including hypothetical moves you'd make.

Then it becomes a question and answer game on how to deal with certain personality types I think (that's pure conjecture on my part)

The Giants won 4 games this year. They aren't a "win now" team either.

Neither are the Raiders, the Browns, the Cardinals, or the Raiders.

So unless another coach get fired, dont think there are any win now teams with coach openings.
