IMO, Saleh is like a top 3 DC. If you get him a good OC, he may do very well. They're going to interview him, so if nothing else, it takes care of one of the two necessary Rooney Rule interviews.

The Rams defense has been bad for the last month. It cost them that Thursday night game in Seattle.
If we hire a first-time head coach, this is the way I'd like to see us go.

My understanding is LaFluer has 1 year left on his contract. You can be certain he won't be there next year on that deal. They either extended, fire or trade him. The latter two scenarios would happen quickly. If they don't then an extension will occur.Called itif LaFluer gets axed he likely becomes option B.
McD should have promoted him to DC instead of hiring Weaver.

I'll be surprised if any team hires Weaver as HC this year. He's mostly a Rooney Rule fulfillment IMO. I'd love to be wrong though.
McCarthy, provided he receives a five year contract, will be the next coach. Sullivan and Aikman think highly of him, he has head coach experience with a winning record, can be his own offensive coordinator and can more easily form an experienced coaching staff
It would have to be more the hours and the grind. Ross could easily pay him more than he makes as a commentator.
Not on defense. In yards allowed, his defense was 32nd in the first season, or the worst in the league but went 4th, 3rd, and 3rd after that. In points allowed, not as good, but still solid. 32nd, 4th, 12th, and 20th. His offenses really never got going though.
Would you rather have Saleh or Weaver as DC?
IMO, considering the players Saleh has had to work with this season, he has overachieved. 20th in yards and 13th points. Only 23rd in takeaways. Only gotten 20 sacks. But he has mostly no names to work with, especially in the front 7. Only 3 defenders have started the entire season.

That makes sense. He may also look to hire his Uncle Mike in some capacity.
Grandpa Don succeeded in his first HC gig. We'd need to be patient with Chris or any first-time coach, especially til the roster got restocked.
