Dolphins coach Tony Sparano told Yahoo.com that after having just six plays of over 40 yards or more last year, "I spent a lot of time looking at myself in the mirror, knowing that I need to make the change … we couldn't crawl down the field anymore.''

His players are enjoying the newlook attacking offense of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

"We'd much rather gain big chunks of yards at once instead of going, 3,3,3,'' said guard Richie Incognito. "You run downfield more, but you're not snapping your head against the wall every play.

"We had a limited time to learn it and it's a complex deal. I think we've got the base information down now and are learning the nuances, all the exceptions to the rules and all the trickerations.''

Receiver Davone Bess favors being put in position to win one-on-one battles with the corners.

"Week after week our goal is to put defenses on their heels to attack,'' he said. "Last week was a glimpse of what this offense can be. We still have room to improve …but we're not comfortable [yet], comfortable would be the wrong word. We're definitely moving in the right direction.''

Im just hoping for some excitement and explosion from our offense this year. I am so tired of 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

Gotta have the players to make this work, which means Bush and Gates have to contribute. A seam-busting tight end would help, too.
