  • Chad Pennington (1): He was not overly impressive in the Dolphins first pre-season game but there is no question who leads this football team. He did play solid and seems to have developed some chemistry with Ted Ginn Jr this off-season. Pennington is smart and he is accurate and you know that as I type this up he is the film room getting ready for Carolina Saturday. It’s encouraging to see him coaching up Pat White and Chad Henne on the sidelines; Pennington won’t move from this spot without a fight.

  • Jake Long (2): When we drafted him over Glenn Dorsey and Chris Long I was a bit disappointed which just proves I am idiot because Jake Long’s Pro-Bowl rookie season was no fluke. Jake looks even better this off-season as he has seemed to trim down a bit and work on his technique. He is getting better at blocking pass-rushers and just dominates his opposition.

  • Joey Porter (4): Peezy looks to be in great shape again and he gets a bad reputation for being a loud mouth and at times he takes it too far but the young kids on this team look to him as a leader and he puts the numbers up to prove it. He got solid pressure on David Garrard in the first pre-season game and in one occasion it led to a Jason Ferguson sack.

  • Ronnie Brown (3): Wasn’t very impressive in the first pre-season game and rarely impresses during camp. I still think Ronnie runs for 1200 yards this season

  • Jason Ferguson (5): This guy is the unsung player of the team and a player we absolutely cannot afford to lose. Big Ferg recorded a sack against Jacksonville and played very stout inside

  • Jason Taylor (6): This guy doesn’t look or play like his age; he has provided a boost to our pass rush opposite of Joey Porter. Matt Roth has his work cut out for him if he things he can come in here and just take JT’s job

  • Ricky Williams (8): I thought we went back in time 7 years watching him play Monday night because he looked like the Ricky Williams of old. This guy is running with absolute power and running defenders over for extra yards.

  • Will Allen (7): I didn’t hear his name at all Monday Night which means he shut somebody down. Allen is underrated as they come in this league

  • Vernon Carey (9): Not much to say except our starting line is very improved.

  • Ted Ginn Jr. (13): The star of the show on Monday Night as he played with a higher confidence level. The game is starting to slow down for him and his route running is improving a great deal. In two series Ginn hauled in 2 catches for 26 yards, a carry for 14 yards, and drew a 33 yard pass interference penalty. I expect Teddy to become a major play maker in this league.

  • Yeremiah Bell (15): Where I looked on Monday Night I saw #37 around the ball and was impressed with the fumble he forced as well. I would not be surprised to see this guy in the Pro-Bowl.

  • Justin Smiley (11): Sat out of yesterdays’ practice but probably just needed a day off.

  • Jake Grove (15): He moved up because he handled his own against John Henderson which is no easy task. He did need some help from Donald Thomas but Grove was very effective. He did have a false start which is hard for a center to do.

  • Channing Crowder (20): Channing is a tackling machine just needs to make big plays more often. He brings a much needed attitude to this defense.

  • Gibril Wilson (NR): He was absolutely laying the lumber on Monday Night. Like Bell he was all over the field and I come off very encouraged about our safeties ability to support against the run. Wilson is also a leader out there and I found it interesting that after Vontae Davis committed a fair catch interference penalty Wilson was in his grill letting him know his displeasure.

  • Anthony Fasano (13): Where was he on Monday Night? I didn’t hear his name called once which is rare.

  • Davone Bess (10): He falls more do to the emergence of other players but it won’t be long for Bess to fight his way to the top. He is the closest thing to Wes Welker in this league and should have a monster year. He was the start of yesterdays’ practice and is always giving all of his effort.

  • Akin Ayodele (19): This guy defines solid. He might not be the flashiest player out there but he is always in position and is a solid tackler. I still can’t believe we got Ayodele and Fasano for just a 4th round Pick.

  • Cameron Wake (18): This guy continues to impress with his pass rushing ability and I noticed improved use of his hands. He had a near sack in the first pre-season game. I would like to see him finish more and I suspect in time he will. He plays with an outstanding motor and is always close to a sack but he needs to start getting sacks.

  • Sean Smith (23): This guy is a star in the making and played outstanding against Jacksonville which included an Interception in the end-zone where he ran the route to the ball better than the Wide Receiver. This kid was a steal where we drafted him.

  • Patrick Turner (16): Made some nice catches and had a few uncommon drops. It was raining but he should have helped Pat White with a few catches. I still think he can make a real push to contribute in 2009.

  • Chad Henne (22): I think Chad showed great control against Jacksonville and leadership. It wasn’t perfect especially that terrible interception he threw but he did bounce back with a nice TD pass to Wilford. Henne is the Quarterback of the future but I think we saw a glimpse of why this team is not ready to move Henne ahead of Pennington.

  • Donald Thomas (25): Donald came into the game and started throwing people around.. literally. He must have had 3 different Jaguars on their backs. He is back to running with the first team unit.

  • Tony McDaniel (NR): This guy is good for depth and played his arse off against the Jaguars. I thought he was another big body but this guy has ability and could see time in the rotation.

  • Chris Williams (NR): This guy is elusive as a returner and got the ball down the field in a hurry. He only had one bad return on a punt but other than was spectacular at times in the return game.

i might have missed him, but i don't think you can justify leaving Randy Starks off that list. he was a terror on Monday. arguably our best player on D in that game.

Ginn might keep moving up that list.
Smith might too>>
and Starks should be already

Ricky and Wake are continue to move up. Like it was said Ricky ran with absolutely no fear and Wake just looks like a solid veteran in there.

Yeremiah Bell (15): Where I looked on Monday Night I saw #37 around the ball and was impressed with the fumble he forced as well. I would not be surprised to see this guy in the Pro-Bowl.

earth to RealDriscoll i dont see that happening

yea i dont see why bell would already be ruled out of the pro bowl... for one the season hasnt even started yet.... for all we know tyrone culver could make the pb, for two... bell is nasty
