And McMillan is candid about how his first four games have gone.

“Everybody wants to be better individually,” McMillan said. “I wish I was leading the league in tackles and interceptions and all that. But it’s just how the flow of the game is going. And all I care about is that we’re 3-1 right now. We’ve got guys on our team making plays. I’ve got to play better. And I know that. But it’s a process. This is my first year playing. My first four games in the NFL. And I’m going to get better.”

Coming off the injury bought him time to avoid the bust label, but right now he just looks like a replacement level player.

It's funny, because that's actually an upgrade for us, but that's what he is.

Totally agree. MLB (whatever!) is a position of high instinct, high football IQ and assassin @heart.

This kid looks clueless for the most part.

Whatever happened to John Offerdahl?

Can I buy a Zach Thomas!

Oh boy...

give him a chance

Phillips who was given years to get his **** together, playing alongside a
pretty good DT.

we all **** on Kiko last year and he has stepped up his play
He has his chance this entire season.
I get the impression he's a hard worker, and maybe the injury slowed him, IDK.

We were sold the story that he has good instincts, is ready day one, and was fast enough.

None of that appears to be true. He's a guy you draft a round later to learn and develop.

He is on a tough spot. He is supposed be the QB on defense and be in the right spot every time in his first year of playing. He is also playing in a scheme that forces him to shed blocks which is not strong suit because of his playing style and size.

Part coaching and part injury is why I've been giving him a pass this first quarter

He is in a tough spot, but that's the way it goes if you are a starting Mike on an NFL team. He should have a good grasp of the system. He had all last year to watch film, sit in meetings, etc.

To me, he just looks in over his head. I hope I'm wrong. If it's not working though, we might have to draft another.

Of course, if things really go south, a new regime will be drafting a QB in rd 1.
