DAVIE — Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi says he’s “frustrated” and “disappointed” by his recent production.

Ajayi ran for 200 yards twice in October, but has seen his rushing total decrease in five of the last six weeks.

“It’s tough not to get frustrated because you want to be able to create that output and put out that production,” Ajayi said Wednesday. “It’s tough when you look at the end of the game and the stats don’t showcase what you feel is going on out there. But that’s what it is.”

Ajayi has failed to reach 50 rushing yards in two of the last three weeks. And he’s failed to reach the 1,000-yard mark in efforts at Baltimore and against Arizona.

I love the kid, but the only stats he should be concerned about are in the win/loss column.

In Gase's press conference he said Jay needs to avoid being frustrated and just keep playing like he has been. Jay has been very close to breaking some big runs. Inches away. Just keep playing tough and eventually the big run will come. Stay focused. The stats will work themselves out at season end.

A one handed left tackle, one armed left guard and a sub-par center facing some pretty good run defenses.

That was also mentioned by Gase. Some pretty good defensive front 7's faced the last few weeks.

We already torched the Jets and Bills on the ground, and their defenses seem to be going to **** at exactly the right time. Especially their run defenses. We need to ride the Jay train for 2 weeks.

Sure his production went down but still respect our run game and are afraid he can break a 50yd+ run. That's invaluable imo

He's got young anger on his side. He has to worry less about expectations and just keep fighting for yards. I'd hate to see such a promising young talent cuff himself psychologically.

If we would have kept handing him the ball like we were he would have more yardage but too beat up to contribute during December. He seemed like he was wearing down a little bit anyway. We needed him healthy more than satisfying his production.

He needs to stop the being frustrated and disappointed nonsense, it's a team sport trying to get wins, not trying to get him 200 yards running day. You do not always reach 100 yard games, even the best will not get 100 yards every week, just do your part when needed and hope for a victory in the end.

Getting over a 1000 yards means consistently getting a little over 62 yards a game, more important is what you are averaging per run, then how many yards you have at the end of a game.

He hasn't been the same since Pouncey got hurt

Give him a full 16 game workload with a relatively healthy o line next year and he's a 1500 yard rusher no doubt in my mind.

I'll be the first to admit, I never seen any of this Beast Mode coming out of Jay. He is a true baller.
I'm glad he is frustrated, that's even more exciting!
