Miami Dolphins’ Richmond Webb falls short in Hall of Fame bid

His time will come.

On a similar note our own @RichmondWeb should be in the lounge hall of fame with his commitment to our own little game 😂

This is a “weak” HOF class IMO. A lot of really good players there like Fred Taylor and Yanda and on and on. I would have thought Webb had a good chance.

There’s only 2-3 no-brainers here:

Fred Taylor of Glades Central High and University of Miami receiver Reggie Wayne. Also advancing: CB Eric Allen, DE Jared Allen, T Willie Anderson, G Jahri Evans, TE Antonio Gates, WR Tory Holt, LB Luke Kuechly, QB Eli Manning, WR Steve Smith, OLB/DE Terrell Suggs, K Adam Vinatieri, S Darren Woodson and G/T Marshal Yanda.

and I’m not even sure who they are!

Sanders said this a few years back. The HOF is not for good players but for players that changed the game.

I'm not surprised at all. They kept Kuechenburg out of the HOF and imo he was better than Webb was. The media doesn’t like the Dolphins in general

And another year passes by that Marino really didn't play with any other HOF players. Go look at every other QB in the hall and see the other HOF'ers that they played with. Marino played on some really crap teams.

Nobody knows that the HOF is. Sadly Webb didn't really put his imprint on the game playing for an organization that defined itself by its failure to elevate despite having a HOF QB.

I’m honestly having a hard time picking any of those guys. Eli Manning - for all his warts - probably came closest to that definition by beating that 18-0 team w a 10-6 Giants team and then taking his 9-7 team and beating the 13-3 Pats again 4 seasons later. Both on last minute drives for TDs. Everyone else on that list was a really good player but no one dominated their contemporaries nor changed the game.

Eli is my hero simply for beating the pats twice and he played for Ole Miss

Bob Griese got in and his stats weren't astonishing
2 SB wins got him in. Jim Plunkett is the only QB with multiple SB wins to not be in the HOF. Hell, just one SB got Joe Namath in the Hall.

Richmond was a great player. Perhaps the best pass blocker ever. That being said, his run blocking left much to be desired IMO. That and no SB appearances are probably what is holding him back.
