Looking explosive and powerful, Miami Dolphins rookie running back Kalen Ballage busted through the line of scrimmage on a run during Saturday’s practice and outran everyone to the endzone for a 50-yard touchdown.

Never mind that this was practice. Nevermind that there was a question whether the defense may have taken him down at the line of scrimmage if allowed to tackle. A 50-yard touchdown run that left the defense gasping for breath, especially by a 6-foot-2, 229 pound guy, will catch the eyes of coaches, media and teammates.

Really excited to see what this kid can do once the season starts, my fear is that Gase uses him predominantly as a battering ram on short yardage or goal line situations, that would be a waste IMO.

With the offensive line improved i think the running game is going to be solid all around...drake, gore, and ballage should all be effective

Great insurance in case one of our RBs get dinged up and hopefully very little drop off.

We've been spot on with our RB selections in recent years

Drake, Gore and Ballage. I've read we have one of the worst RB units in the NFL. I hope somebody posts that press cutting on their lockers. Instant ammunition.

I disagree, I believe the more talented versatile and fluid player is Drake, Drake can do things Ballage cannot.
You may be right. It remains to be seen. Ballage has talent as well, and one thing Drake will never have. Size.

Ballage has that Eric Dickerson type running style. For all you young guys, he was a decent back. Not saying he will be the next this or that, but that body type/speed power combo isn't all that common.

I don’t understand, Drake is 6’1 215 and built very well... I consider that great size for a true two dimensional running back with 4.4 speed..

Ballage cannot do this..

Once Ballage turns his shoulders perpendicular to the los he’s toast..
