Miami Dolphins brass Bill Parcells, Jeff Ireland and Tony Sparano were nowhere to be found among the 50-plus NFL types credentialed for today's Florida Gators Pro Day. Maybe the drive to Gainesville is unnecessary for the Dolphins if at least three playmaking Gators will come to you.

Probable first-round wide receiver Percy Harvin, receiver Louis Murphy and tight end Cornelius Ingram each said they have individual workouts scheduled with the Dolphins before the April 26 draft. Working out for Miami isn't just protocol since none of these guys have more than eight scheduled workouts with individual teams.

cornelius ingram is a very intriguing prospect... but based on credentials such as productivity, experience, veteranship, i can hardly see the fins gambling on him.... on the other side, he's got tremendous mesurables and he might be this draft's best kept secret, we also know how much this regime loves TEs (guys like martin and haynos are serviceable, but they're not what we're all about. )

i guess this workout will give them a better feel for cornelius, but at the end of the day i don't see the fins going after him earlier than the 3rd round or 4th, which might be too late considering other teams might grasp him before

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receivers coach Todd Monken can attest to Harvin's claim.

"If you give it to him in space, he's going to score," Monken said. "He's got a chance to change the game.

With this in mind and seeing the great contribution Wes Welker has made in New England, Would you pick Harvin with pick #25 to supplant Bess and add depth to the slot receiver position? They could both team up in our 4 WR set!

Gator receivers

what a tradition of mediocrity

Who gives a crap. I don't recall Pitt having a wonderful tradition of sending out pro QB's, but we managed to get a good one out of them. Harvin is Harvin, I don't care what other Gator receivers have done recently.

BTW if it makes you feel any better, from the old days Nat Moore, Wes Chandler, Chris Collinsworth.

I will feel better when we pass on another first-round WR bust

we have Ginn, enough is enough

Harvin scouting report

Weaknesses:
Durability is a major concern...Very raw as a route runner...'Tweener who might not have a true position...Is not overly physical...Just an average blocker...Did not play in a pro style offense...Never returned a single punt or kick in college...Has character and off-the-field issues

god noooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we draft Harvin in the 1st our 2nd, Murphy in the 2nd or 3rd Im going to be highly upset. Florida Players never translate into good NFL WR. And I dont really think Nicks or Britt is worth a 1st or 2nd round pick either. Nicks wasnt even the best WR on his team until Tate got hurt. We can get talent at WR in the 4th round or later.
