Miami Dolphins still have decent cap space

Here are the current numbers. Only the top 51 (everyone above Sieler right now) will count toward the cap once the final 53-man roster is set. This assumes the cap hits for the last three contracts signed since the official numbers aren't in yet (Lawson, Karras, and E. Roberts). It also includes the cap numbers for our current 14 draft picks. So as you can see at the bottom, as of right now we're 31.9 million under the cap, with the draft picks accounted for. I assume they will be rolling most of this over to next year, but you can see that there's room for another big contract (cough Trent Williams cough) if they choose to go that way.

Cutting Wilson would save only 88% of his salary, not the full 10.833 million, because of the way his contract is structured. So by cutting him they'd get another 9.5 million to add to the 31.9 million they already have, pushing the total up to 41.4 million.

So that mean an approximate $31m carry over into 2021.

It's about to get even more boring. The State of New Jersey is about to declare a State Wide Shelter in Place Order. I'll be wiping my azz with wash rags pretty soon. This chit is real!!!!
My county has been like that for a week, and the whole state of California as of yesterday, or something.

It's very sad watching what's going on with people ignoring warnings to keep distance and to stay inside. I've not been outside, unless it's for groceries or doctors appointments. Good luck!!! If You or any Finheaven Member wants to shoot the breeze PM me?

thanks for this , great info !

Neal Driscoll tweeted about the cap yesterday. So I checked both Over the Cap and Spotac to see what Miami's cap situation was. Both had Miami at $47M remaining for 2020. Driscoll said Miami would have about $80M for 2021, based on a cap total of $209m? But when I check Spotac for 2021, it said Miami had, $131M in cap space. Needless to say I was shocked, if that figure was true. Miami has done an excellent job managing the cap, kudos to Grier and Company.
yes i seen figures of about $76 m for 2021 on overthecap , i know there wil be cuts and maybe trades ,but in 2021 we have like 40 free agents on the cards ,which may eat into things , re sign godchaux, biegel,mcMillian etc>????

Nice break down......like how you included draft picks.

There is an article in the Miami Herald that I don’t want to pay for but it talks about how the Dolphins have less cap space than originally thought because of their free agent signings. Does anybody have any insight?
