Trying to outduel Brees is almost like trying to take down Tiger Woods in match play. Brees is at the top of his game right now; after six games he’s got 14 touchdowns against two interceptions and has already thrown for 1,400 yards. And that’s with two games of throwing for under 200.
Henne can’t match that, and he shouldn’t even try. The Miami offense is based on the run as much as the Saints’ is based on the pass, so the numbers are unlikely to be close even under the best of circumstances.
