Miami must play close to a mistake-free game to have a chance against Baltimore.
Whether it was Anthony Fasano dropping a sure TD pass at the 5-yard line, Brian Hartline having a Chad Henne throw bounce off his hands at midfield or Henne’s ill-conceived pass from his own 10 that was intercepted, Miami made more than its share of mistakes against the Bengals.
We have two words for anyone who thinks those mistakes won’t be costly against Baltimore: Ed Reed.
The former Hurricane safety who missed the first six weeks with a hip injury, Reed is back in the Ravens’ secondary, and those who have followed the Dolphins for even a few years have to remember his 64-yard interception return for a TD that helped the Ravens to a 27-9 rout of Miami in the 2008 playoffs.
Buffalo showed Baltimore is beatable when the Bills extended the Ravens to overtime and rolled up more than 500 yards against their defense nine days ago in Reed’s first game back. But Miami has to execute better for that to happen.
