Football is clearly the biggest sport in the country and the Miami Dolphins have a rising star with the flare to be the face of the city. That man is Jarvis Landry.

Juice has everything you look for in a star. He has the personality, is a big-time playmaker and has a silly haircut that seems to be popular with the kids. Oh yea, and a cool nickname. He is an outstanding 23-year-old wideout and pops off your screen when you watch him. Whether he’s making defenders miss on a reverse, making a one handed grab or electrifying on a punt return, his quickly rising star is undeniable.
He’s already setting Dolphins records. Landry has the most receptions in the first two seasons in Miami history. Despite two disappointing seasons for the team, Juice has been a bright spot. Through two seasons he has piled up 194 receptions including 110 catches in 2015. He’s also added 1,915 yards and nine receiving touchdowns as well as a rushing TD and a punt return to the house.

It doesn’t hurt that Landry’s best friend is New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr and the duo put out videos of themselves making circus catches. Beckham even credits Landry for teaching him how to make his signature one-handed grabs. Don’t expect Juice to stop making highlight reel plays anytime soon.
When you really think about it, Landry is the only choice. All the Dolphins other best players are on defense. Cam Wake is a monster, but his career is winding down, Ndamukong Suh isn’t overly likeable and offensive players are almost always more popular.
Most don’t pick defensive lineman on their Fantasy team and the NFL has made it clear since they’ve changed all the rules so it revolves around the passing attack. Ryan Tannehill has a shot, but as of now is more of polarizing figure than loved athlete. Half the fans believe in him, the other half can’t stand him.
I also expect the Dolphins to be the most popular professional team in Miami for the foreseeable future. With the Heat dismantling their “Big 3” and the Marlins being consistently mediocre and MLB’s popularity waning, there isn’t a ton of competition. We’re not even going to consider a hockey player in Miami. Landry has the look for Miami and is relatable at 5’11”, 202 pounds. Kids love his flash and adults love his hard-nosed attitude. There is very little not to love about him.
Miami, you have the new face of your city. The Juice is Loose and he’s going to be a superstar. Enjoy and appreciate this young talent. I see Pro Bowls, Madden covers and maybe even a Super Bowl ring in his future. Time will tell, but I’ll gamble on Landry.
