I hope so because he was not good last year.

Kiko Alonso is never one to make excuses. But last season, he was one beat up Miami Dolphins linebacker.

Thumb. Ankle. Knee. Hip. Wrist.

Alonso played through it all. And he was criticized. And he never flinched. And now, the Dolphins think Alonso is healthier. And ready to return to a very good 2016 form.

Not buying it was all injuries but I'll reserve judgment because we really need him to not wear a target.

Who isn't beat up during the season besides maybe the kicker and punter. I'm not just talking about Kiko when I say this but just in general for all pro football players. You have to learn to play well when you're hurting. For those that remember Steve McNair and the hell he went through during the week to the point where he needed help from his wife just to get out of bed but by game day he was ready to go.

Let me see, he played through injuries and was used to play out of his "natural" position in order to help the team compensate for lack of depth last year. He doesn't make excuses or whine. He's not a drama queen. We got rid of AJ and kept Alonso for good reasons. Seems like the team knows what its doing. As we continue to draft well our depth will improve as will our first team players. If Alonso stays for another two years it won't be because he stinks.

I think its time for a knowledgeable analysis of the wide nine and the job of middle linebackers. I don't feel I know enough about it and I'm pretty sure a lot of the constantly negative posters don't either; they just don't realize they don't.

I'm not disappointed with Kiko because his limitations are not secrets. We know what he is. He doesn't suck per se but if he isn't on the field making plays, his measurement will never be above average.
Fans expect their LBs to be play makers whether its a tackle for loss, pass breakups, causing fumbles, interceptions or sacks; they need to be disruptive sideline to sideline. Kiko does not make enough impact plays and that is the bottom line. Tie that in with the contract he got and its just not a good bang for your bucks.

Mando says that they plan on going with baker in 3 lb sets but have chase allen ready should he struggle. That matters more than anything with kiko.

He could on another team as a backup with the veterans minimum.

He hasn't impressed in pre-season this far IMO. Just a liability in the run game as per usual

People have said Kiko tried 'too hard' to cover the poor talent around him. I hope so, but not buying it yet

He wasn't really all that great in 2016 but he was better than last year. It's that time of the year where we hear all the stories about how every players will have his best season ever. Show me out on the field!
