Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross after win over the Texans at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on October 25, 2015. (Allen Eyestone / The Palm Beach Post)

The Miami Dolphins are the 25th-most valuable sports franchise in the world, according to Forbes.
The Dolphins are worth $2.575 billion, which outranks some other notable franchises such as the Green Bay Packers (2.55), Boston Celtics (2.5), Manchester City (2.474), Arsenal (2.238) and the New York Mets (2.1).
As Forbes notes, the NFL is king in the world of sports.

I would be going straight to the room to change clothes. I don't know what bodily fluids would be on me but I would have between 1 and multiple, but something is going to be soiled. luckily I'd prob be home by myself if we made the super bowl, no parties, no cooking for lots of people, no friends over. I MIGHT let the wife stay there.

but back to topic.. makes sense that the NFL franchises would be worth more overall. im sure it takes into account everything the owner owns in regards to the team also, land, training facilities, yada yada yada. its been 29 years since ive been down to Miami for the game, but you figure on top of the stadium which I couldn't imagine and basketball stadium to cover as much area as a football stadium and real estate is money. I know the dolphins have the parking lot where as I know in charlotte for the hornets you pretty much park in a complex owned by the city (or take the tram) so the team and Jordan don't own that land. then you figure land and property for massive training facilities that are probably just as large in area as the stadium, granted probably not in as high of a land value area, where as the NBA teams and hockey teams train on the home ice/courts. so im sure that the real estate value of it effects the value of the team as much as the team name. was rumors about when Carolina panthers were selling that the owner might want to move the team to the outskirts of charlotte to a place where he could have parking and so on. he could tear down the stadium, build a new one and probably still be in the positive for what he could sell the land to developers for for downtown condos in charlotte. and as far as GB, they have the more legendary and currently popular name and team I think, but im sure the property value of where their stadiums and facilities sit would be that of a fraction of miamis. and like I said don't stone me, I haven't been to Miami since 89 so for all I know the stadium is in the slums, but you would think...

Being in the ACC East with mega-markets New York and Boston/New England really amplifies the worth of Miami. Also, being on a short list for Super Bowls helps too. Plus the market size and the glitz of South Beach contribute to its value.

The stadium upgrades are nice additions as well. But being in a prime division and a nice market really drives it's worth. As the NFL worth increases, so does a market like Miami.

With a record like ours, and not winning the SB since the 1970s and still we are ranked 25th most valuable franchise in the world, is astounding to me, it says a lot about Miami, the Dolphins organization and more importantly, ownership. When Bellichik and Brady are finally gone, will New England even sniff the top 20? Just wondering.

It was inevitable that the franchise would continue to appreciate.
There was no way he could lose.
