What is your "honest" opinion when it comes to the state of our franchise?

Do you think we will be cellar dwellers for a few years, on the verge but need a year or two to develop, or will make it to the playoffs this year?

Perhaps should have worded 2009 to be...pieces are not quite all there, will need another draft (or two) and time to develop before ready to make playoffs.

it all comes down to the o-line. if we got something there this season - and if our new starting te does a decent job - we will definitely compete for the division title, especially since we can beat the jets, bills, and patriots on any given day... :cooldude:

I have to look at what the other teams in our division have done also.

We did get better this year. We cut some dead weight and projects that didn't pan out. I like that we seem to have a time limit on "potential" now (McMichael).

I think NE and NY got better also. NE better then even us. IMO they put a little more distance between them and the pack. NY was better then us and I don't think we closed the gap all that much.

This could change if we get Green and Beck produces early. If we pick up an Alan Faneca, I think we leapfrog NY.

I agree with your point but NY still has Pennington and I could envision him struggling unless his arm is much stronger this year. If that happens, they may bench him for Clemens and still struggle.

As for the Dolphins, 2008. I believe they will take at least 1/2 of the year to pick up the new offense. I can realistically see us as a .500 team at the bye and about .500 after the bye based on this years schedule. If we pick up Green and the Oline progresses quickly then 9-7.

When the Trent Green ordeal is done and is officially our quarterback, yes we will make a push for playoffs. 10-6, wildcard...

im gonna get ripped as a homer but who cares hope springs eternal. 12-4 divison champs and a super bowl birth woohoo

10-6 and a playoff is not unrealistic. Everyone knows it's just a matter of time before we get T. Green and he already is very familiar with the offense. Our defense has been playoff caliber for years now and I think we may start to see some of the younger players(Vickerson, Evans, Roth) start to emerge. And I think our special teams has been upgraded tremendously with the additions of Ginn, Booker, and Feeley. 1 or 2 cheap TD's could win us an extra game.

As long as we can get some improvement from our o-line I think we will be a playoff team.

In the NFL the teams are not that far apart, however without a QB we are going no where fast Lemon and Beck are not ready Culpepper is not healthy and Green has not been aquired yet. With this question mark on our team it is too hard to predict what we will be.

I think by the time the 2010 season is upon us, Cameron / Mueller will have built a contender in Miami....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Give Mueller and Cam time to retool/rebuild the team. We could be good this year or it could take 2-3 years to get the right players and all of them on the same page.

Cam does bring accountability and dependability to the picture. Players like Chambers will have to perform or move on. Either you perform or you leave (sounds a lot like Shula). However, we have one major difference in the team now and the team when Shula took over. We had the QB already (Bob Greise), we're in a flux at that position. If DC comes back and can play in Cam's system great, if not we might have Green to play two years until Beck is ready. Lemon is a possibility, however, no one really knows what he can do yet.

Also the receiving corp needs to improve and become dependable.

If we can get stable at QB and depend on our receivers we should finally have an offense that compliments the defense.

I think the OL fix is on the way with this draft. Carey moving to LT in a new scheme should anchor the line. The Samoans should help in the middle for the next 5-10 years.
