Injury bugs ???

Yesterday the Miami Dolphins worked out several free agents, but failed to sign any. The team worked out Rashaan Melvin the former defensive back from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Melvin is a very good player with great skills. The team also worked out Jake Stoneburner the former Ohio State tight end along with OC Lemuel Jeanpierre, OC Michael Brewster and OG Alex Parsons.
Three interior lineman were worked out but none were signed.

I always thought Stoneburner was going to make it. Guess not, obviously. LOL.

I look at these tryouts as the FO knowing Davis and Taylor are sketchy at best.

I like the melvin signing, the guy is huge for a corner. A sherman clone ?

I wouldn't speculate about injuries. I think this is only news because we aren't accustomed to having a REAL GM running the show.

Finally, we found a guy who gets it. Props to Hickey.

You NEVER stop looking for ways to improve your team, health issues or not. A good GM should have guys working out EVERY WEEK.

Constantly searching for ways to improve your roster, practice squad, or even just to initiate relations with perspective talent, show me that this team is doing what it takes to push us back into the upper level of the NFL.

Oh Ireland churned the bottom of the roster with the best of them. He had players working out all the time also. If Hickey can put another strong draft back to back, then we may have something. First and second round picks that can actually improve the roster are always a plus.

Miami keeps poking around on TEs. They should at least give a call to Colt Lyerla. Dude has issues, but is a physical freak.

I gave you a thumbs up so I can say:

That yellow font is terrible - bad idea. Please do not use it ever again

Just found this write-up about Rashaan Melvin. It's a draft prospect article written before the 2013 draft. He has really nice size and he was clocked at 4.42 in the 40. Says he is a smart player with good awareness. There are negatives too, such as him not having short area quickness, his back pedal sucks, and he sometimes misjudges balls in the air. Sounds like he is someone worth trying to develop though. We will see.
