Obviously Ward will not be available, but after that who would you like to see the Dolphins target as the draft progresses? There are some intriguing players, including Elijah Arroyo, Damien Martinez, Xavier Restrepo, Jalen Rivers, Sam Brown, Zach Carpenter, Jacolby George, and Andres Borregales.

Damien Martinez i think would be a good selection for the team to pair with Achane and Wright

Arroyo i'd be interested in, the rest are JAGs in my opinion. Restrepo will play a long time in the NFL most likely though
Martinez and Arroyo for sure. Restrepo will probably be a good slot for a long time. Think the others are basically practice squad guys. Although drafting Borregales would be a cheaper option if we want to move on from Sanders.

The Dolphins have met with 3 Canes. Martinez, Restrepo and Rivers. No word yet on any other player meetings.

Martinez and Jalen Rivers are high on my radar for day 3 guys (Dolphins).

I like Restrepo, but we don’t need a small slot receiver although he’s tough as ****. The Welker comparisons are always gonna be there but he reminds me more of Jarvis Landry with the physicality and tenacity he plays with as a smaller receiver. Not a homer though. I think he is limited at the next level. There are probably 10+ receivers in this class that I’d pick over him.

I’m also really high on Elijah Arroyo *if* he can stay healthy enough to actually develop. He’s got all the tools. He has that elite receiving tight end potential, and I didn’t see a “poor” blocker watching him at The U. There’s room for growth there. He can become the complete package but health is a real concern.

Borregales will be a 10+ year pro. When I was down on Sanders he was the guy I had eyes on (and the Pitt kid - I forgot his name)….. but Sanders has really earned his keep since the Dallas game in 2023. That seemed to be the turning point for regaining his confidence.

I've asked this before, and I'll ask it again.

Is there a correlation between combine performance and success in the NFL? Does a player's 3-cone drill performance, bench press, long jump, or high jump actually matter at all compared to a players' actual play on the field?

I would say no but when you are going to spend a draft pick and paying a whole lot of money you probably want as much info as you can get to help you make the decision

Two guys look equal watching game film but one is a lot faster or much stronger you probably go with him

Doesn't always work out but the percentage probably favor the guy with the better metrics

Does it? I have no idea but I’m really curious to know if that’s the case.
