I am not sure how your expectations are here fellas but there is two things that miami needs to do this year.

#1 beat the average teams and bad teams by more then a mere 3 points.

#2 immprove coverage on special teams.

#3 throw the ball deep more often so we can open up the run game.

beating a good team by 3 points is fine but squeekin by the bad teams wont get us into the playoffs this year. this is important because if we can blow a team out for a long overdue change then we have a better chance to get into the playoffs if we should be tied with another team or teams.

I meant deep not depp sorry for the faux pas

I'm going to address #3: I think Depp would be better used returning punts. He really showed his knack for sidestepping people in Pirates of the Caribbean and I think his versatility would be best used in that capacity.

The Dolphins need to play with the heart they did last year and win the turnover battle. From there it's all gravy for you guys.

We don't play any average teams this year. They are all good except for the two chumps, jets & bills.

you cant do #1 and #3 with a short dink and dump passing attack.its not easy taking a 5-10 yard pass all the way in for a td.

Hey, a win is a win. I don't care if we win by one point or three touchdowns. Just win the dagum ballgame.

The Dolphins are not a quick strike team.. They are a team that has time consuming long drives. They are a ball control offense.

This has advantages of course.. The advantages are-- it keeps the defense off the field and more fresh. And it wears down opposing defenses in the 4th quarters, as we saw last season.

That's when we move in for the kill.

I agree with your point #1, but only for my own egocentric reasons. Winning big only accomplishes two things. It inflates the players egos, thereby giving them a false sense of security, and it gives the media something to talk about all week. If there were some sort of positive emotional carry over from one game to the next, I'd be all for it. But this is not the BCS, and there are no style points for winning big in the NFL. Now if you said you wanted us to blowout the lesser teams so the media would stroke our johnsons instead of the Patriots for a change, I could almost agree with that. But not quite, because I really don't give a **** if the media is enamored with us or not.

thanks guys , I overlooked some of those points ,because I am still suffering from the wanny ball expereince.

I am also tired of hearing about the pats jets and bills.

The media is irrelevant, or should be as far as a teams image of itself is concerned. The inflating the ego & false sense of security bit only works against a team if they aren't 'centered' and 'grounded' in the first place. Dominating a team on the scoreboard that you're far superior to is always better than squeaking by. You should play to your capabilities. That enables confidence.

I agree. It's infuriating when we play a team I know we should be beating the hell out of and we just squeak by. But at the same token if we win consistently (and often), and beat each team by the same relative margin then none of this matters.

I think if we stay healthy and the trenches play as well as they look on paper then it'll be another great season. There's a lot of parity and imo last year's Steelers were overall one of the weakest SB champions in history.

I disagree about blowing out teams. Why risk injuries just to run up the score? Get wins and the rest will take care of itself
