Miami Runs a College Offense Baltimore Defensive Coach Says

Not disrespectful at all. If anything, the opposite. We do run an offensive scheme similar to the college option, so he's just speaking the truth really. He even went as far as to call the offense "unique". Tough to game plan for defensively in one week, that's for sure.

I hope they all run their mouth and disrespect our offense. Billboard material???? Keep being professional Baltimore.

I see it differently nor did I like his attitude about the Chargers either.

The Ravens will end up being boorish and disrespectful by the end of the week. They are bullies on the field.

So do the eagles. They seem to be doing pretty good with it.

would make more sense if that was all we did...but its not...thats why the system argument doesnt carry weight also when it comes to the qbs improved play this year...we still ask him to make many presnap and progression reads and we work from under center 3 5 and 7 step drops and shotgun as well...this isnt an rg3 lead skins offense in past years for instance

miami worked one wr bubble screen vs the jets...tannehill is asked to do a little less than in shermans system bit there is still plenty on his plate...now the uptick in completion percentage is highly offense oriented but his overall accuracy complaints have always been fabricated hot air around here

In todays NFL with Head Coaches and NFL QB's being given 3-4 years to produce, you will see more and more college type ball in the pro's.

It is easier for a rookie QB to succeed when you carry his college 'system' to the pros.

Hell, we brought in Tannehill college HC as our OC to smooth out his transition. After two years we took of the training wheels and look at the results.

Luck, having played in a pro system was already pro ready.

RGIII, played in the most basic of college systems and is now a major bust when asked to run a TRUE NFL O.

Hard to take if it was disrespectful or not. But based on his lack of credit for the Chargers I would point my finger to some arrogance with a sprinkle of disrespect. But that is what the Ravens are about. From ownership down to their fans. Arrogance. That's why I enjoyed our lonely win so much more in 2007.

I don't mind if they degrade us to the "Georgia Tech of the NFL". I hope that his will be the mindset in pregame prep for the Ravens.

Not for nothing Lazor didn't chuck out everything from Sherman's playbook when we are not running the read option we run West Coast stuff still, which i really hate because thats where all the dink and dunk passing comes from (there are deep plays but we rarely use them obviously). WC really depends on YAC and we really don't have those type of receivers. I remember Lazor wanting to install a Vertical tree too when he got here but may have held back because it took a long time for Tannehill to get comfortable with the read option. Hopefully they start to get around to putting in more vertical tree stuff in the stretch run here because we suck running the WC and read can't be run every down like it is in college.

Ravens have some nerve putting up billboards about our offense.

Now... bulletin board material, that's the good stuff

Tell that to the 7 defenses that have lost to that offense.

Pretty sure Pees worked with Belichick in New England for a few years. Probably learned that arrogance there.

I thought it was a pretty cool show the way the broke down film with a coach like that. If people feel disrespected by that then they are pretty sensitive.

I felt like he gave the Chargers too little credit but his explanation of the read option wasn't bad. When he said things like "all it is" it sounded more to me like he was conveying the simplicity of the logic/options - not disrespecting the offense. If that was disrespectful I have certainly heard a lot worse!
