Miami signs WR Terrace Marshall Jr.

Some players just need to realize how much work and effort goes in to competing at the NFL level if they want to make it. Hopefully he knows this and will do all he can. Hopefully not a smarts thing. Some just never seem to get it.
 
I wanted to draft Marshall... so it was a good thing they didn't listen to me... but there could still be a good player lurking in there.
 
2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about TERRACE MARSHALL JR.: LSU, 6031 200 4.40. Junior entry, two-year starter, Bossier City, LA. Opted out of the duration of the 2020 season after seven games. Nephew of former NFL player Joe Delaney. A five-star recruit, Marshall had a hard time living up to the hype because of the abundance of talent the program had at the receiver position. Started off fighting an uphill battle because of a severe leg injury suffered his senior season in high school that broke his fibula and dislocated his ankle. In 2019 however, he started to break out with a 13-touchdown year for the LSU championship squad. In 2020 he responded with a solid seven-game season before opting out. Still plays a raw game when it comes to ball skills and routes. He needs more experience and there are still a few edges that look rough, but the upside is there with the best in the class. His tools are first round-worthy and he has shown on tape that those tools are starting to come to light. Checks all the boxes when it comes to size, strength and speed. Easy and fluid mover down the field that has the deep gear to get over the top. Tracks the vertical pass well. Can get up and over a leaping group of defenders and come down with the tough catch. A favorable matchup in the red zone. Can get open in a small window but also excels in traffic. Has a competitive streak in him at times that will out-physical defenders and show dominant traits. Works through contact after the catch and picks up extra yards. Showed issues with drops over the middle on short, quick passes as his volume increased last fall. Competitive edge and hustle goes hot and cold. Struggles to find the windows against zone coverage. May need more time to develop, as processing information and turning it into physical action seems labored and delayed. Shows too much hesitation off the line. Has yet to play to his physical potential on a consistent basis. 2020 stats: 48-731, 15.2 ypr, 10 TD. First/second round. (A-32 3/4, H-9 1/2, VJ-39, SS-NA).

It happened during a 3 yr period from 1981-1984 when 3 Dolphins players passed away -- Rusty Chambers, David Overstreet and Larry Gordon. I was a kid at the time and remember thinking how strange it was that all these young guys were dying.

Chambers and Overstreet died in car accidents in July 1981 and June 1984, respectively, and Gordon collapsed while jogging in June 1983, from what was later attributed to a congenital heart defect.
