The news that the Miami Dolphins are looking to get a mid- or late-first-round draft pick in a trade for defensive end Jason Taylor raises the obvious question: Who would the Dolphins draft with that pick?
According to Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel, the Dolphins are targeting four players: Florida defensive end Derrick Harvey, Auburn defensive end Quentin Groves, Michigan quarterback Chad Henne and Delaware quarterback Joe Flacco.
If the Dolphins were to trade Taylor for a first-round pick, they would likely use that pick on either Harvey or Groves, who would be penciled in to take Taylor’s place in the starting lineup.
Then, with their second-round pick, No. 32 overall, the Dolphins would presumably turn their attention to Henne or Flacco.

I hope sooo!

We're not getting a first round pick for Taylor...

smoke, smoke and more smoke. I'll bet if end up with a late 1st for Taylor, we parlay that into even more picks, we are gonna be Major players throughout the entire Draft. I look for us to end up with around 12 picks overall.

You guys realize you said the same thing about Long. All you kept saying was smoke screen and it happen. Is everything a smoke screen to some of you. Jacksonville is not gonna find any player of the quality of JT, they could surrender their first pick if the realize this with maybe an option of switching 4ths or thirds.

I would be surprised (but thrilled) with a 1st, but I think a 2nd is very feasible.

JT is a great player but to give up a 1st for 2 years left from a very good player is crazy. But thiers a sucker born every minute. I would be happy with a 2nd but would be thrilled with a 1st.

I think this is more a signal that they want another good young Qb but know they have other needs so they need another pick.

i would be happy to get another first round pick but i think we should go Corner if we get high enough up or if we get to the 19th pick with a trade with Philly maybe the LB from USC will be there

For a team that's close (Dallas, Jax) or think they are (Philly, Cleveland) a guy like JT could put them over the hump. Well, maybe not Cleveland. But the point is, if JT can get his hands on the opposing QB two or three times a game, whether as a sack, pressure, or ball-strip, he can change the outcome. If you don't have a guy on your roster that can do that, you can roll the dice with the pass rushers in the draft or take the sure thing. A team's window of opportunity starts to close almost as soon as it opens.

i'd REALLY be surprised if we traded JT and got a 1st for him,if we do trade him,a 2nd is feasible, but a 3rd is more likely IMO.

Call up Washington! Snyder hasn't made a splash this off-season yet. And though it's not as flashy as an Ocho Cinco trade, it'll still make headlines. I'd throw in a 4th if necessary as well. We could get another immediate starter with this pick. (i.e. the said players before: Harvey, Groves, etc.)

This is the NFL version of the Formula 1 'silly season', where every rediculous scenerio is rumoured. Unbelieveable. Obviously the type of drivel reported when there is nothing to report. Word is Parcells has Davie locked up like Fort Knox!.. No wonder we're hearing so many rumours! On us getting a 1st for JT that is.

I wouldn't mind any of those picks. I'd really like to keep JT, but if we get rid of him we obviously have that extra hole. Harvey or Groves would make me happy. Either way we just need to stack the D.

agree, lucky to get a 2nd
You guys are crazy...JT was the defensive MVP two years ago and he had a bad year because clueless Cam didn't use him correctly like Nick Saban did the year before. He still has another 4 or 5 good years left in him...watch and see how good he plays on a team like Dallas.
