How many NFL-caliber players does Miami have coming back next season?

QB: 1 - Tannehill. We won't bring Moore back.
RB: 2 - Ajayi and Williams. I can't see Miller re-signing with Miami.
WR: 3 - Landry, Parker, and Stills. Jennings and Matthews are gone and Hazel hasn't proven anything.
TE: 1- Sims. Cameron is a cap casualty.
OL: 3 - Albert, Pouncey, and James. Our guard play continues to be garbage and we have no backups.

DL: 3 - Suh, Phillips, and Fede. I'd like to bring back Vernon and Shelby but they'll be more expensive than their play was worth this season. Wake will be a cap casualty. Mitchell will have to take a pay cut to come back.
LB: 3 - Jenkins, Misi, and C. McCain (special teams), although I think Misi could be a salary cap casualty given how many games he misses due to injury.
SEC: 4 - Jones, Bo. McCain, Thomas, and Aikens (special teams). Grimes has fallen off the cliff this season and will be a cap casualty.

ST: 3 - Franks, Darr, and Denney.

That's 23 players out of a 53-man roster. Another way, that's 30 positions where we need to add or upgrade.
 
You left off some players from last years draft class...

Grimes probably stays though because of so many holes, Maybe even Wake comes back - Williams better not be on this team next year he does nothing well including understanding when to down balls in the endzone.
 
If Grimes has fallen off a cliff what the heck has Dion Sims fallen off of? I wouldn't put him in the list of NFL caliber players. I certainly wouldn't put Chris McCain on that list either. Not sure why everyone thinks the guy is a pro bowler without him every doing anything. Remember he was slated to start and he was so bad and invisible that he was inactive for a number of games this year...so bad that Kelvin Sheppard started over him and Sheppard is awful.

I would be interetesed in you posting your thoughts on offseason moves etc but I get the sense your too aggravated like alot of us at least at this time?
 
I would keep both Matthews and Miller

and get rid of all the LBers

and bring in a QB.

We have the best paid back-up on center stage.

He is never going to be the leading man, but I would allow him to compete for the starting job on a level playing field.

Possibly look to trade RT and Pouncey.

Pouncey always says the right thing on camera,

but he is a leader in that locker room and that locker room sucks.

Not sure if he is part of the solution. Wake also would go were it up to me

I'm really ticked off. Worse is that my cousin started his new job with the Dolphins today...thank goodness it's not on the football side of things or that would be a short stay at a new job.

This franchise keeps doing the same stuff over and over again every year...and then expects different results...the very definition of insanity. Keep paying for big name free agents and calling stuff fixed, telling the fans we're now ready to make a run at the playoffs while never addressing the real issues or addressing the entire team as a whole and then going into the season falling flat on their face...over and over and over again.

New owner and coaching staff.
This team needs a complete over haul.
I would get rid of Suh. He is not worth the money. A total salary cap bust and his reckless, stupid penalties, and undisciplined play is contagious.
I would only bring back Tannehill, Jones, Miller, Parker, Matthews, Landry, Shelby, Vernon, Grimes, Franks, and Darr.
The entire Oline and back ups are trash. The LB's are trash. The TE's are trash.
We need 42 new players IMHO.
Unfortunately, some of the trash not mentioned above will be back.
 
Here's who I would bring back
Offense
Tannehill
Miller
Ajayi
Parker
Landry
Stills
James
Pouncy
Turner but no guarantee to start. Has to earn it as he has been pretty bad this year but still young
Alberts due to cap hut but expect him to get hurt again

Defense
Suh
Phillips
Jones
Lippet

Everyone else I'm game for them to go but I know at least half of them will be back....first two guys I would cut are thomas and Williams....bring back both kickers

I really dont think the Fins are that bad talent wise. Maybe not great but not as bad as most think. Coaching has a lot to do with how this team plays. I like Dan but he and his crew are in over there heads. So was Philbin. Get a couple of good player here or there they will be better.
 
At this moment in time, it is like scouring Hiroshima trying to locate exactly where the bomb impacted. It doesn't really matter any more.
