Which of the tackles on the roster should make the final cut. Miami currently has Randy Starks, Jared Odrick, Earl Mitchell, Aj Francis, Isaako Aaitui, Anthony Johnson and a few other UDFA's. I figure Miami only keeps four and the battle for the fourth should be between Francis and Johnson. I give the edge to Francis if he can build on last years good camp.

Starks, Odrick, Mitchell...Locked, no discussion needed.

Aj Francis, Isaako Aaitui, Anthony Johnson is really only competition left for 4th slot.

Would not be surprised if Johnson wins 4th slot.

I'd say Francis probably makes the 4th spot with Johnson going to the practice squad. But the LSU kid has skills, maybe with the first 3 spots set coaches think they can get him ready quickly.

Didn't Odrick drop some weight this off-season as well? Could he be in the mix to play DE again this year moving inside in nickel situations? I would love to see Coyle mix and match players and rotations more this year.

odrick is a pro bowl level dt, he is not moving. he was our best dt last season - and it wasnt close

Anthony Johnson will make this team. He's your fourth DT. I'm shocked he didn't get drafted.

Remember how much I gushed about Jarvis Landry? Unfortunately it's the exact opposite for Anthony Johnson. Kid should have been way, way better in college.

Word around these parts is he was having some personal issues and he just stopped caring a while back.

I'm just being honest. We thought he was gonna be our next Glen Dorsey.

Is there talent there? It's now or never for the kid. Obviously the NFL is tuned in to whatever issues he had or has because he went undrafted for a reason.

Francis is more of a gap shooter while Johnson is a wide body. I'd give the edge to Johnson, even though I like Francis.

The loss of Soliai is more significant than most fans seem to acknowledge. Strength to weakness, IMO. Unless Johnson fully translates early I think we'll have a need at this position very quickly. I would have addressed it this year, especially when Louis Nix continued to slide.

Amen. We are in for a rude awakening trying to stop the running teams without Soliai. Nix would Ave been a great selection.

If the linebackers looked bad last year expect worse this year without big Paul. I get the feeling that rushing the passer is the focus on this defense at the expense of stopping the run.

I'm at the point I would rather have a team run the ball, because each time they don't throw the ball means one less opportunity to give that big down the field pay that kills us. When teams run the ball and use ball control it tends to mean a close game that's going to go down to the wire and be anybody's game. When teams drop back and throw a lot it tends to mean trouble for Miami. The Dolphins will lose some games against running teams, but it's not often those type of games result in Miami getting blown out.
