Misi was not that good in the middle last year. He's actually average as an OLB but that's where he belongs. I'm kinda surprised Miami hasn't shown interest in Spikes. He would be an upgrade and I'd still draft a MLB to challenge him. I'm thinking Guard, CB, WR, MLB and RB in the draft. Not that order, just the biggest needs imo.

I think you give Tripp a fighting chance at the job in preseason. but you draft a guy in the 2nd to compete with him. Misi is better then average at outside JMO

Kendricks has that motor. I wouldn't be opposed to Spikes either. I just trust in Hickey.

I'm thinking they are going to throw a dart at the team poster and whoever it hits is going to be MIKE. Seriously, I have no clue what they are going to do...

NOPE, not even close. He is average at best, probably more like slightly below. Average tackling, above average setting the edge, below average in coverage, and straight up garbage rushing the QB. But more than all that he is NOT a playmaker. Hasn't made a game changing play since he has been here. For the life of me I can't not figure out what everyone sees in him. Fin fans make the mistake of comparing him to OUR other LBers rather than other LBs around the league. Our LBs are terrible and have been for awhile. Misi is a decent role player and not a priority to upgrade, but he certainly isn't a great LB either.

well misi was hurt mostly all last year so you cant really say he wasn't good at mlb

totally agree, i thought that he was above average last year when he wasn't hurt. maybe its just because Ellerbe being so bad in 2013 warped my senses, but Misi was light years better.

Absolutely JORDAN TRIPP.

He can cover TE's, hits like a truck and has the instincts for the position. 4.6 speed doesn't suck either!!

In the short time we got to see him he looked pretty good. Layed some lumber!!

Sorry KTOWN, gotta disagree. He is actually just the opposite of your assesment....... .

From nfl.com draft: [h=4]STRENGTHS[/h] Triggers fast downhill vs. the run. Diagnoses quickly and is around the ball a lot. Outstanding motor, intensity and effort. Extremely competitive. Very tough. Outstanding weight-room work ethic. Sculpted with very minimal body fat. Elected team captain. Exceptional character. Emergency long snapper (started all four years). Has a special-teams temperament. Takes the game very seriously. Athleticism was on display at the combine -- paced linebackers with a 3.96-second short shuttle, recorded a 6.89-second 3-cone drill and vertical jumped 37 1/2 inches.

Stampede Blue Draft:
Strengths:
Tripp is a smart and instinctive OLB who rarely takes a false step. He is very disciplined in his pursuit angles and always is making plays on the ball carrier. Tripp a high motor guy who brings energy to every play. He has great ability in coverage and would not be a liability when asked to cover man-to-man due to his above average anticipation. Tripp is also an effective blitzer when needed.

Bleacher Report:

  • Smart linebacker who reads keys well and can react quickly.
  • Quick, nimble feet in short areas.
  • Terrific long speed to chase down plays in the open field.
  • Has initial quickness to accelerate on the ball or in blitz calls.
  • Instinctive to find small gaps as a blitzer.
  • Comfortable in a back pedal to get depth in zone coverage.
  • Can put his foot in the ground to come forward and play routes in front of him well.
  • Anticipates routes well and has skills for man coverage.
  • Fits the run quickly coming downhill to close down space.
  • Disciplined in pursuit angles, not a liability to his team.
  • Always seems to be around the ball.
  • Plays with a high motor and high energy level.
  • Athleticism and instinctive traits translate to special teams value.
  • Complimented leadership and off-field traits.

Misi is the Hartline of LBs.

Overrated and puffed up by homeristic Dolphans. Abused by teams around the league.

Inspiring zero fear in opposing teams. Making no plays that any other LB could make, and missing out on many plays that average to above average LBs make.

he's an Ireland player through and through.

honestly i think Our Front office is relying on a lot of second year players to make a leap this year like they did with jenkins last year. Tripp, Landry, will davis, dion simss etc....Think about, mason foster wouldve been signed long time ago, he was drafted by hickey, so to me that shows that hicky has faith in his young guys.

miami's plan??? no clue... its been completely silent in that aspect

my hopes.... Kendricks!!! while Tripp also steps up and proves himself as a solid contributor in depth as well.

theres no ILB in FA worth it anymore either.... basically they all resigned back with their teams.

NRA, you keep pounding the table for Tripp as an MLB . . . . if he EVER becomes a starter on defense, it'll be at the WILL . . . where Jelani Jenkins plays. His strengths suit that position more than any of the others.

It's funny how you conveniently left off the weaknesses of Tripp. Go ahead and post them . . . . it'll give you more than enough insight to why he isn't MLB material.

Dude has to put on weight, get stronger and really work on being able to shed block better. Did you watch him on special teams last year? Dude was struggling IMO. Honestly, if he doesn't come in improved he may not even make the team. I don't expect that to be the case, because I do think he's worth investing in as a backup to Jelani Jenkins, but once you start putting him somewhere he doesn't fit, you want recoup those expectations.

Kelvin Sheppard >>>>>> Jordan Tripp at MLB.

Kendricks would be a similar pick to what Juwan James was in 2014. Essentially, you'd reach to get a solid player that fills a need and can start for you day 1.

Kendricks at 14, you are definitely reaching but when you spend money on Suh, you can reach to get an instant impact.

You may have to wait a year or 2 on one of the edge rushers that will be there and top 3 WR could be off the board . . . . it's possibly the smart play in 2015, although you'd certainly be passing up one of the pass rushers and with Wake on decline/getting old and OV in his last year and Dion not a fit as a 4-3 DE . . . . it would be tough to pass up one of those guys for an MLB.

I think Miami can get away with Perryman in round 2 (if he's there) and stay more in nickel on 3rd downs anyway, while having Jenkins/Jordan on the field at LB and your DLine . . . so although Kendricks would be great . . . it IMO is not a homerun pick at 14, just more typical safe Dolphins (Odrick/Misi/James/Pouncey/Long).
