[h=2]Micah Hyde is an impending free agent, set to hit the market this next week. He’ll have multiple suitors; the Miami Dolphins should be one of them.[/h]We’re three days away from teams starting to negotiate deals with free agents. Just five away from those free agents putting pen to paper. The Dolphins are surely in the market for safety and nickel corner help especially after the injury news surrounding Isa Abdul-Quddus.
Head coach Adam Gase said it himself a couple days ago that Miami can use all the corner and safety help they can.

Hyde would be a perfect fit in South Florida for multiple reasons. The versatile corner/safety our of Iowa has proven himself with the Green Bay Packers since being drafted in the 5th round in the 2013 NFL Draft.
While he hasn’t solidified himself as a consistent starter he’s proven to be a playmaker. Since 2014 he has 30 regular season starts, intercepting eight passes and is averaging 48 tackles a season.
Newly-hired defensive coordinator Matt Burke needs to find someone he can plug in and play the nickel corner. Of the top three cornerbacks on the roster – Byron Maxwell, Tony Lippett, Xavien Howard – none are a good fit for the nickel spot. This past season we saw Michael Thomas or Bobby McCain playing the nickel, neither of which are starting-caliber talent.
One of Hyde’s greatest plays from the nickel position came in the playoffs this past season. Before the snap of the ball he read the play and intercepted rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, something a lot of players failed to do this season.

I got the impression that Micah Hyde actually regressed this past season. If Green Bay doesn't lock him up, there is a reason. Don't get me wrong, Hyde's a good player but I think we have some higher priorities.

i think if we're trying to be value-oriented, because of the recent update on IAQ this kids versatility and price tag may make sense - also never mind having a packer player come to our locker room (not including coaches)

As a lifelong Iowa fan I can tell you this guy can play anywhere in the secondary. Would be a huge add for us.

I wouldn't be opposed as long as the price is fair. After seeing what happened to A. Wlliams in Buffalo there needs to be a plan for the free safety position. It's a shame about IAQ because I was really surprised by him and thought we had at least a stable player next to Reshad

No doubt we need all the safety help we can get. We saw what happened last year with the injuries. Same thing with corner

Ozzy rules!!

I really hope to get lucky with IAQ but we better get some quality insurance in case he's out for a while. I also though IAQ and Jones was a pretty good tandem and was looking forward to seeing them lock down the Safety position for us for a long time. Hyde is a ball hawking type player with some talent and smarts. I'd bring him in and see what can be done. If IAQ bounces back then that would be even better. We have to improve the depth on this team in almost every area. Last season we had a damn good starting line-up on both sides of the ball but when the injuries started to happen the team's depth was exposed and by the end of the year we were paper thin trying to beat Pittsburgh at home in the Playoffs. That wasn't going to happen. There is only so much that can be done over a season or 2 but I love Gase and the culture he has instilled in the Dolphins. With the right FA and draft we'll continue to develop into a high quality Football team. The other good thing is that we are building the team the right way, no more insane FA spending, at least so far!! I might be speaking too soon with Big Mike still calling shots!! If he spends for one of the high quality Guards I'll be OK with that. I think we're all sick and tired of below average Guard play slowing the development of our team. If we solidify the o-line we will be tough to stop on offense. Jay Ajayi is a Superstar waiting to happen and we have to have a line as close to the Dallas Cowboys as we can. Julius Thomas is going to EXCEL for Gase in a Dolphin uniform. We finally has a real Tight End and it will open up everything else. Finally, here's hoping that Stills becomes signable and stays in the fold. I would love to watch an offense with Tannehill in his second year under Gase, with Ajayi, Williams and Kenyon Drake in the backfield with Parker( healthy and motivated) Stills, Landry and Thomas catching passes and Tunsil, Pouncey and James with some high quality new Guards as our o-line!! WE WILL BE HARD TO STOP AND FUN TO WATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From GB to Miami, that would be a nice change of scenery for Hyde.
