The Miami Dolphins met with free-agent wide receiver Michael Crabtree recently but did not meet his demands, according to a report from the Miami Herald.

Miami offered Crabtree just about $3 million but the WR is seeking a contract worth closer to $4.5 million. The wide gap in price led to Crabtree deciding to check his options elsewhere. Thus far, it does not appear a team has stepped up and beat Miami's offer, but Crabtree is still set to meet with the Oakland Raiders.
Crabtree was a first-round pick in 2009 but his career has been mostly a disappointment. In six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Crabtree has only played all 16 games three times. Crabtree has 26 touchdowns in his career and has never been selected for the Pro Bowl.

Oh well. He will come to his senses soon. The Fins should bump their offer to 3.5 as a final offer.

Too many of these players have way too much pride. Know your place...

not seeing anything new here?

If he waits too long he might find himself being forced to take less than Miami offered.

I would like to see Miami sign him as I think he would be a good fir in the offense and he is due to have a good season being another year removed from his surgery.

But kudos to the Fins for not bidding against themselves.

First I would like to BIG UP ALL GANJA MAN DEM ON PHIN HEAVEN!!! Blessing Jah Rastafari..as for Crabtree he's a diva just go back to his rookie season so I'm not surprised at this all. I say take that 3 mil and sign Jennings.

And then there is this....

The Dolphins still need another starting outside receiver, and according to a recent report they were willing to pay former San Francisco 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree close to $3 million.

But a team source is emphatically denying that the Dolphins ever made an offer to Crabtree or even discussed money with him.

So who knows what the truth is but reality is as time passes it is less and less likely that he becomes a Dolphin IMO.

F him. Last thing we need is another prima Donna reciever. Glad to see Miami is being sensible and not reaching anymore.

I still think crabtree ends up in Miami. It's a good fit for both sides, and clearly no one is knocking down his door to sign him. If he's healthy, he would have a great opportunity to shine in Miami.

If not, I'm not worried if Matthews ends up the starter on the other side. Kid is really good, just dumb as heck, but hopefully knowing he can be a starter and in his contract year, this is the time he shines. Kid has phenomenal hands, runs sharp routes, and can catch in traffic, isn't scared of contact at all.

If Matthew can finally figure out zone coverage and learn a damn playbook he will do just fine.

Good for us. Stand firm! That is right where we should be.

I wouldn't pay him anything over 2mill a year... **** off Crabtree.
