I want to see Michael Lehan get his chance to prove that he is a nice fresh young solid player....I like this guy always did...Michael Lehan has 28 tackles in his 3 year career....compared to Will Pooles 26 tackles in his 3 year career...Michael Lehan also has fumble recoverys compared to Pooles 0.....Lehan has better stats then Poole....Poole got injured too much....Saban will not put up with that....Saban doesnt like players who sit on the bench with a injury and get paid for it....so that why Poole is gone now....and Lehan will step in now....Why u think Eddie Moore is gone too???? Injury Prone thats why lol.........

I expected Poole to be our #3 corner. Goodman will take that role, but Mitchell and Lehan will have opportunities.
 
Michael Lehan would be considered the current #4 CB on the depth chart since Poole has been released. But I expect the rest of the CBs to get real competitive now that Poole is gone and that spot is up for grabs. Don't forget about guys like S. Mitchell and Eddie Jackson. They have been here longer, and I heard that Jackson has exceptional speed.
 
My take is you are comparing a guy who has three years as a backup for a losing team with a guy who only has one year (didn't play last year bc of injury) and saying bc he has 2 more tackles and 1 more fumble recovery in his career he is deserving? I don't think this really works in his favor. Honestly, I don't know too much about Lehan, but not buying the logic...

Why Lehan over guys like Goodman or Mitchell?

Based on what? He just drafted R. Wright who is most likely going to spend a year on IR. He picked up Mitchell last year. Heck Eddie Moore spent a year on the team before he was released

not that it really matters because the numbers are so close, but espn.com credits Poole with 31 tackles (27 solo), not 26.

I think most of us would agree that we would be better off if Poole returned to his 2004 form this year for us. I'm really anxious to see how a guy like S. Mitchell performs now, since he was a Saban pick-up that he seemed enthusiastic about.

The not-wanting-injured-guys-at-all arguments doesn't make a ton of sense to me. Each year, Saban has picked up guys that needed to sit on the IR all year long. This year it was obviously R. Wright, but it was Mitchell last year I believe. It seems clear to me that Saban doesn't have a ton of patience with guys that are injured for 2 or more years however.

Poole has had one, count 'em, one injury. Coming back from an ACL is pretty tough for most and even more so for DBs and RBs. It may take him another year to come back or he may be picked up on waivers, in which case, Saban will have outsmarted himself. However, if Saban felt this was the best thing to do, so be it...he's been mostly right so far. The emergence of Lehan most likely is what prompted this move...not because Poole is injured too much ?? It is really unfair to call him injury prone at this point...

And when healthy, he's much better than Lehan...but as you said...he's not healthy...
