He says because Jamal Lewis isnt a long term solution (and Adrian Peterson would probably be there at #3), the Browns have so many holes that trading down is a real possibility...

First off i want to go on the record saying im never in favor of trading up in the draft, because you have to pay a player alot of money having never seen them perform at the NFL level. Not to mention the cost of moving up is extremely pricey...and even in this situation id probably rather stand pat at #9, or move down and get more picks because this is one of the deepest drafts in many years...

But with that being said...One the other hand this is the first draft in years i have seen players available that are basically sure things (Calvin Johnson, Joe Thomas, and Adrian Peterson)....It sounds like the Raiders will be the Raiders and look past the sure thing and draft Russell, the Lions sound set on Joe Thomas leaving Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson both "sure things" available at the number 3 spot...

I think Calvin Johnson is going be great...he had a good college career dispite have crappy QB's throwing to him, oh and he ran a 4.35 and he borrowed someone elses shoes, he is 6'5' 240 lbs, and he doesnt have the ego that seems to follow around elite recievers now days!!!...Not to mention he is the best player to come out of college in years and he could be available with the third pick in this draft which could turn out to be the draft steal of the centry...

Thinking about the possiblity of Calvin Johnson wearing a Dolphin jersey is so tempting...I think it something management should consider, but in the end we have alot of wholes to fill and with this draft being so deep we should probally stay put at #9 and try to keep stock piling picks although if the FO decided to move up it would be the first and probably only time ever i wouldnt be pissed...what does everyone else think??

The madden fan in me wants to trade up to get Calvin Johnson, but i think we should stay where we are and get as many players as we can.

I agree with you. Miami is trying to rebuild and for the first time in years they have at least 7 picks. That being said, Calvin would be so great to have and would add a weapon to our offense. What would miami have to trade to move up though? Our 1st and both 2nds? or our 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd?

If anything, I think we will trade DOWN and grab Guinn Jr (sp) & more picks.

I think he is the wideout they are targeting, remember Cam talking about meeting him when he was in the 7th grade.....

:dolphins:

I think to move up we would have to trade both 2nds, our 3rd and probally a late round pick in next years draft...

thats the thing giving more than two picks (which i know is unrealistic) seems likes its to much for our team

We got a couple extra picks, this would be the year to do it. I would personally love to see Calvin Johnson in Aqua and Orange.

Johnson is the only player in this draft I would want us trading up for with our 9th pick.

The Only Player Id Trade Up For Is Calvin Johnson.......but If We Dont Id Be Happy With The Picks We Got.....i Think We Have A Great Situation Right Now

I think to move up we would have to trade both 2nds, our 3rd and probally a late round pick in next years draft...

No, it would not take that much. Unfortunately the value jumps drastically from #3 to #4.

#3 2200 pts.

#9 1350 pts.
#40 500 pts.
#60 300 pts.
--------------
2150 pts.

So we could either throw in a player or they could add someone like Droughns and get our 4th rounder too.

Regardless, the price is far too much.

As good as CJ will most likely be in the pros....NO receivers will be good until we fix our offensive line. I think people are forgetting how bad we were the first half of last season b/c of our line.

Without a solid line we won't be able to run or pass, so no one will make an immediate impact, regardless of who the receivers are. Right now our line is in somewhat of a shambles, and possibly worse off than last year (we cut all of our depth).

I think we would surely trade down if we got offers, but #9 is not a great spot to be in looking for a trade down in this particular draft. I think it would be ideal if we could trade down a few spots and get Levi Brown and then pick up a late first or early second rounder.

CJ is tempting, but I hope we keep all our picks. We can add some young talent and depth to the team.
