There are a lot of directions Miami could go with their first pick. The Brandon Albert injury may also have an impact as I could see the Dolphins taking another offensive lineman in R1, potentially even trading up for the right player. Plenty of needs here. Miami needs a good, young corner with size. A running back to complement Lamar Miller would be nice. A stud offensive guard is an obvious need and linebacker is still a need, but maybe not as major as we think with the development of Jenkins. Misi, while not great, seems okay in the middle. Would be nice to have an impact linebacker. Anyway, here goes Mock 1.

1. DeVante Parker WR. Louisville --- What's the best way to make a young quarterback even better? Surround him with talent. The Dolphins defense, while certainly needing some additional talent, is championship caliber. Miami's offense, on the other hand, is still a work in progress. The team has struggled in the redzone and part of that reason IMO in not having that bigger receiver/tight end to throw to in those situations. I don't see a tight end that I like in round 1, but Parker would be perfect for this offense. Not only is he 6-3, but Parker uses his body well and wins those battles with the ball in the air. I think he has a chance to be a real force in this offense.

2. Quinton Rollins CB, Miami (OH) --- A bigger corner at 6-0 who is just scratching the surface of his potential. Rollins can learn for a year behind the likes of Brent Grimes and Courtney Finnegan. Another possibility here might be Marcus Peters, but the Dolphins are less likely to gamble on character than other teams. At some point, maybe late 1st round, Peters ability will outweigh his off-the-field stuff (Seattle?).

3. Hroniss Grasu C/OG, Oregon --- Grasu is a little undersized, but his experience in Oregon's fast paced offense could make his transition pretty smooth in Miami. Grasu could play guard or center for the Dolphins and is a player who fits the zone blocking scheme.

4. Karlos Williams RB, Florida State --- Williams has had a somewhat disappointing season at Florida State after being hyped as a potential first or second round pick. That said, Williams has a nice combination of size and speed to complement Lamar Miller.

5. Michael Orakpo OLB, Texas State --- An injury ended his senior season and will certainly affect his draft status. Orakpo, though, has talent to work with including speed in the 4.6 range.

6. Tyler Lockett, WR Kansas State -- I could see Lockett, with his speed and ability to return kicks, going earlier than this. But, it's certainly possible that he drops a little bit. Lockett has had some key drops, but he also has big-play ability and, at the very least, could be an ideal return man.

7. Ian Silberman, OT Boston College -- A 6-5 developmental offensive tackle from a school with very good success putting offensive linemen in the NFL.

If Parker is gone what do you guys think of Dorial Green-Beckham? Is R1 to rich for him?

First, Green-Beckham is certainly a first rd pick, maybe one of the top two WR taken.

Second, while a flashy WR would be nice, I think a DB is a bigger need and would go CB first round, Williams or Ekpre-Olamu.

As of now, I'd say corner is a good bet. But, if Miami lets both Hartline and Gibson go, things change in a hurry. I haven't been happy with the play of Hartline, especially considering his salary. I'd guess both are gone, making wide receiver a big need for the Dolphins. Even with Hartline, Miami needs a bigger, physical player at wide receiver.

Corner in the first and wide receiver in round 2 is also a potential option. Not sure what receivers would be available in the second that would be an immediate upgrade.

See, I think Wallace, Landry, and Matthews can be the starting WRs for this team. A healthy Clay takes off some of the pressure as well. I think a big time player would need to be there to skip over a top CB, but I'd be cool with White, Coates, or Strong. The drop off from top level CB to second tier is a lot wider than for WR, you'll be able to get a starter in the 2nd or 3rd. I think this is a draft Miami will need to be very fluid in their picks. I could see wr, O line, te, cb, safety, lb, d line, any of them in the first rd. Thankfully I also think Miami is in position to take the best player available and not target the best *position of need* player.

I agree Miami needs to be fluid. I also agree that defensive line could be in the mix. It all depends on who drops. Would Miami pass on Gurley or Gordon? Would they pass on Oakman? Those are three players that could "force" the Dolphins to go in a different draft direction.

As far as our current receivers go, I also like Matthews. The trio of Landry, Wallace and Matthews wouldn't be bad, but I still want more talent there. Josh Shaw is a corner who could end up being a steal, possibly in R3.

Depending on who is left at ILB, I would love to have Parker. We need a receiver that can give THill some margin for error, as well as a big target in the red zone. I'm excited to see Parker do the vert test at the combine, that guy has bounce to spare!

Absolutely love the first two picks. Rollins is going to put up some insane numbers at the combine.

If not for off field issues I would take Green-Beckham over Parker. Still I think alot of teams are going to end up regretting passing on Green-Beckham if he stays out of trouble.

Not bad but I think right now we likely need a beast DT to stop the running threat. ..and Starks and other D-lineman may be gone in 2015.

I think the team could go that direction pretty early, maybe round 2. I don't see any first round DT's other than Williams on USC that I like over other players.
