I realize this is a moot point because of the injury. But it was interesting to hear Mike Greenberg pay such high praise to Ronnie today on Mike and Mike. He said (and I'm paraprasing here) 'Ronnie is one of the 5 most underappreciated superstars in the NFL'. Mark Schlereth said he thinks Ronnie has the best vision of a between the tackles running back in the entire league because of his patience and abilty to pound the rock. Again, moot point. But still interesting to hear. I know Tedy Bruschi paid Ronnie some bigtime compliments not too long ago either so its not a first to hear this.

I know how hotly its been debated whether or not Ronnie is a great player or not right here on finheaven over the years. And it seems many do not believe Ronnie is as great as others think. But if you watch ESPN, NFL Network, listen to radio....you will hear TONS of credible analysts talk about how good Ronnie is. I'll say this. Whether you think Ronnie is a good player, average player, great player, etc....I think he is underappreciated by many of our own fan base.

Unfortunately the injuries play into it. He hasn't stayed healthy enough which is certainly an issue. With that said, I REALLY REALLY hope we can re-sign him. I think it would be a mistake not too despite the injury history.

Get well soon Ronnie.

i dont know why everyone has these Ricky/Ronnie debates here, they both have their strong points and they're both dolphins, i never get why people who really love Ricky have to put Ronnie down...

fact is he is a great back... his patience and running in traffic is amazing, for a 230lber he can juke people out of their shoes, he runs with incredible power, breaks LOTS of tackles, has great hands, good blocker, i mean he does it all... he is the best player on our offense and he will be sorely missed...

luckily our 2nd best player on offense is also a RB so we should still be able to compete with Ricky carrying the load, because he is also a great back...

honestly what scares me the most if we dont resign him would be the hatriots signing him. i would cry if that everhappened. that said i hope hes a dolphin for alot longer

Completely agreed. I've been very vocal here trying to convey that time and time again. We should be happy we have both rather than debate who is better. Each has strengths and weaknesses as do ANY running backs in the NFL.

I was watching that and they really were laying the praise on pretty thick. I was also surprised at how respectful they were being on Gang Green.

I do think he has great vision. That is evident as some of his best runs out of the wildcat come when there appears to be nothing there. I can't for the life of me figure out why he can't break big runs on a more consistent basis. Think about all the big runs Ricky would break back when he was in his prime! I have yet to see that level of production from Ronnie.

I think maybe if we had a year or two of bad RB's, like we've had with bad QB's and WR's people would appreciate him more. We've been spoiled since Ricky.

Maybe his injury history will help up re-sign him.

People say he is injury prone, that's BS. Injury prone is missing games here and there, having back issues, pulled hamstrings. The injuries Ronnie has had are the type of injuries one would expect from playing football not becuase he is injury prone.

I love Ronnie, but he rarely goes a full season without injury. That is the definition of injury prone in the NFL.

I also don't understand the hate for either Ronnie or Ricky. Sometimes on this board, you can't like 2 guys at the same position without putting the other down. Don't get it.

Sorry pal, the guy gets hurt a lot, thus he is injury prone. Call it what you want, fact is he is once again sitting on the sidelines while the season continues.

Well, I knew this would happen. This thread wasn't created to compare Ronnie and Ricky. Ricky in his prime was amazing...a GREAT running back and had he not retired and been suspended a bunch of times, how great could he have been?

Ronnie is a different type of running back. I don't see why anyone should compare them. Together they are a nice change of pace...which tells you right there they are NOT the same.

Two season-ending injuries in 3 years? Yea that sounds like an injury-prone back... especially when he's splitting carries for the most part.
