I thought his comments on FA and why he wouldn't trade for a guy like Cutler, no matter how insignificant the compensation was, was more interesting.
Paraphrasing - if you are bringing a guy in and still saying "we have to address the position" then why bother.
Not sure I'd heard that stated in that concise way, but if makes sense...it's also something I believe our front offices have been routinely guilty of - those band-aid type moves...trying to half-ass plug every leak which never truly stops any while watching new ones emerge. It's the kind of logic that ensures you hover around the .500 mark.
