Mike Martz finally named as the Lions OC

The Detroit Lions have announced the team has hired Mike Martz as their offensive coordinator. Martz will also coach the team's quarterbacks. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

I think its a good fit, Martz knows how to develop his offensive talent if nothing else. Its pretty amusing that the Lions hired him after all these antics though.

I really like what the Lions are doing here. They got the fired up Donnie Henderson and now they just picked up an offensive guru in Martz. This should be it for Harrington. He will have a good teacher helping him and a better offense he will be working with.

I agree. The Lions are making good moves. I even like the hiring or Rod Marinelli as head coach.

This is a good move for the Lions. Martz' offense in St. Louis was around a speedy RB and 3 good WRs. Lions have 3 good young WRs, and a good quick young RB. Should be interesting.

If they pick up some OLmen in the draft, they could even keep harrington and have a serious offense. Just not sure how much different these offenses are.

Wasn't Detroit's last offer around $1mil? I would guess he gets a little more than that, but in the ballpark.

I don't know what will happen with Mike Williams though, he is a terrible fir for the Coryell offense. Detroit's oline isn't very good, but I think alot of that was poor coaching. I think Kevin Jones will be a pretty good fit for Martz's offense, isn't he pretty decent at catching the ball?
