Well, if McDaniel really wanted to, he could have had Tua and Company put up 90-100 points today. But he pulled Tua and others after three quarters and then chose not to kick the FG and basically ran the ball to end the Dolphins' possession.
Hmmm... I think all along he was not going to go for it with a FG. Now, if it happened organically due to a run off tackle like Brooks almost did, then yeah he wouldn't have minded.

All back-ups (or most of them, I assume) want to be starters , so these guys are just showcasing their talents. If they can't be starters in Miami, then they may get a chance elsewhere. It's just like in preseason, where players want to look good on tape, hoping to land a roster spot somewhere.
That was the back-ups getting much needed reps.
But I know how Broncos fans must feel...the same way I felt when ****ing Feidler came in for the Jags and right away chucked a bomb for a TD enroute to the 62-7 thrashing they put on us. I was NOT happy... For that reason, I never accepted Jay as our QB...IDGAF what he did.

MCDaniel was being a teacher in that instance. He was teaching how to win with class while not piling onto a team that you are already beating by 50 points.
