The Dolphins were ranked among the league's worst in sacks allowed last season.

Miami was ranked 25th in total offense last season in large part due to a struggling and banged up offensive line. The team allowed 45 quarterback sacks last season and an NFL-high 184 sacks since 2012.
With that in mind, Pouncey recently offered goals for his group this season.
“Keep the sacks down. Keep [Ryan] Tannehill on his feet,” Pouncey said during last week's minicamp. “Obviously, we want a 1,000-yard running back. Our ultimate goal is to get to the playoffs and win a championship. If we can accomplish that, we’ll be happy with everything.”
Injuries to Pouncey and offensive tackles Branden Albert and Ja'Wuan James exposed Miami’s offensive line for its lack of depth last year. This offseason the team made a point to add plenty of depth and competition in the trenches.
The Dolphins drafted first-round pick Laremy Tunsil, who likely will start at left guard and serve as the team’s backup offensive tackle if Albert or James gets injured. They also signed veterans free agents Jermon Bushrod, Kraig Urbik and Sam Young, who have plenty of starting experience with other teams. That trio joins holdovers such as Jamil Douglas, Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner.
How important is it to protect Tannehill? With the addition of Tunsil, Miami now has four former first-round picks among its starting five on the offensive line.
“Obviously, we feel like we got a lot of talent on [the] offensive line,” Pouncey said. “We feel comfortable about the guys that we got in our room. This will be one of the first years in a long time we’ll have depth going into the season. As long as everyone stays healthy, we look forward to having a good year.”

I remeber a game last season where they showed Pouncy looking down and shaking his head like "wtf are you doing" at Tannehill as he laid on the ground after a sack. I think if you ask Pouncy, he would say some of the sacks are on RT. RT needs to learn how to throw the ball away or run.

Pouncy looking down shaking his head and saying god this line sucks, sorry bro

"As long as everyone stays healthy".

This group doesn't have the greatest track record for that, unfortunately. I wouldn't even want to lay odds on the four first rounders starting week 1 to say nothing of week 8.

Of course some sacks are on the QB. You can say that about every single QB in the league. Please stop taking every opportunity to troll.

Dont be the worst in the league? That would make a nice change

You rarely see Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers run into their own sacks. They do from time to time but not as much as our guy does it.

Bingo. I know a starting player on that line and believe me, its been discussed ad nauseam (among the unit) how Tannehill shares a decent amount of blame for the sacks.

Then again, this person that I know also thinks their line isn't as awful as some of the "experts" make them seem.

Take that for what its worth.

Have any proof of this or is it just more bull****?

I remember during the peak of Marino's career where the O-line only gave up 13 sacks all season. Much of that was due to Marino's footwork in the pocket and his release.
RT has to take some of the blame. I understand that Gase has been working with him on his footwork. Don't know if that is instinctive or coach able.

And another let's turn this into a Ryan Tannehill thread...

That ball was out of Marino's hand before they could get to him.
