RT: @gregcosell: Pats OL struggled in p-season. Difficult matchup v. improved Fins front. RT Vollmer issues w/edge quickness Matchup w/Wake.

Following up on point by @gregcosell, if Vollmer isn't ready to play Monday night, big opening test for rookie Nate Solder at right tackle.

Would be huge if Solder was starting. Didn't like him much at all in the draft and my opinion hasn't changed. Wake will flat out destroy him. That's a matchup that even JT is going to win consistently. Even Misi's bullrush should work well against him since he's more of an athlete type. I don't even think you need to use Wake's huge advantage over Solder. With Matt Light's struggles against speed rushers as of late, Wake will have no problems there, but with JT/Misi getting the best of Solder and or our dominant line they really don't have very many options.

Getting to Brady has always been the key to success against the Patriots, and I'm not sure how that line keeps much pressure off him.

This game can't come soon enough.

Reiss trying to do his best Belicheat impersonation. Not buying it, careful what you wish for buddy.

The tweet should read: "Pats will struggle with Cam Wake". We don't have much of a pass rush outside of Cam. Our inside guys can clean up when the QB tries to step up, but they aren't great straight up pass rushers.

they almost got Brady killed against the Lions, once again the patsies O-line looks weak

We have arguably the best penetrating 3-4 D-Line in the league. Also, Dansby and Burnett are both among the best at rushing the passer from the inside. We have some blitz ability in our secondary as well. Pass rush isn't just about your edge rushers.

That's true, but I just get so frustrated watching Misi and all our other edge rushers do next to nothing. If Wake goes down our edge rush is non existent.

We could trot out Ronald McDonald as our other edge rusher and he'll beat Nate Solder like a drum. I agree that we need another edge rusher for passing downs at least, but I don't think it's going to matter too much week 1 if Solder is starting.

I would love to see Ronald McDonald getting a strip sack on Brady.

Just wanted to point out that Odrick is back and even Long was having a problem against him in practice last offseason. If Long had trouble with him, what do people think is going to happen when/if Odrick lines up against Solder?

Solder will probably break Odrick's leg.

have to be able to pressure without a lot of blitzing. have to so we can spare defender to double the TEs going out.
