Haven't heard his name much if at all in these forums or anywhere else for a shot at being the next HC...i know that he wrote a book and learned a lot about his experiences up to and including getting let go from Atlanta....I like Mike Smith and he brings a lot of experience, knowledge and experience, especially on the D side...why not give him a look? did more with than the majority of names being floated around here...thoughts?

Also I like Jim Schwartz, although he is another D minded guy...maybe we could get him in even as a DC and have him bring Mario Williams with him and let OV walk/restructure Cam and replace Mitchell..

I recently had a conversation regarding Smith. He is really my top choice for the job. Payton is second.

I'm not against it. A guy who has been close to tasting a SB victory, but hasn't yet. That may be just the type of guy we need. Someone wanting another shot at the big one.

No thanks.

Had winning seasons 5 of 7 years. Made it to the NFC Champ game in 2012. Two 13-3 Seasons. Voted Sporting News Head Coach of the year 3 times.

Sounds good to me!

One game clock brain fart in 7 years? Phins have one every other game for years :idk:

It was more than one mistake... He just wouldn't be at the top of my list.

Smith remains on the hot seat with the Falcons falling to 4-7 after the loss. Two of those losses have come down to late-game clock management. The Falcons had a similar issue in a 22-21 loss to the Detroit Lions in London.
